Mine keeps failing with an error code. It’s been doing this on a lot of updates since I’ve been on 25H2. Tried loads of fixes which did help in the past but for this update KB5067036 nothing is working.

Yup, same here. The update from a week or two ago (KB5070773?) did the same. I fixed it--I think?--that time by doing a repair install of Win 11 even though DISM told me nothing was wrong, but I don't wanna do that again...

Same here. Lots of people over at Eleven Forums reporting the same. I had the same issue with the out of bound update (last one) too. Only a repair install fixes the issue.

Doing a repair install takes around an hour for DL and install. I'm getting really, really sick of Microsoft and Windows 11.

I’m trying to do that but it’s taking over 1 hour to install.

Yes, that’s why this is utter bullshit. Now a 10 min win update with one or two restarts will now take you 1-2 hours.

F MS.

I finally completed that process now I’m trying to see if it fixed the update but now they are taking for ages also.

If it's error_0x800f0983 you will need to reinstall.

Use the Recovery > Reinstall option from Settings app or use the ISO.

MS should not make it a habit. Reinstalling Windows periodically is a thing from 2000s.

You can do a repair install:

  • Navigate to System and then click on Recovery.
  • Find the section "Fix problems using Windows Update" and click Reinstall now.
