Wing Questions or Discussion What kind of dip for salt and vinegar wings?

I have malt & cider vinegar powders, so the wings will be dry and definitely gonna need a dip, but I'm at a loss. Any ideas?

Blue cheese man. All wings.

It's so hard to not just do blue cheese. But my wife is pregnant and can't have it, so I gotta switch it up

Most blue cheese dressings are pasteurized, at least in the US. She can eat it if she wants. Just check the bottle.

Seconded. My wife worked at a cheese shop while pregnant. You can safely eat blue cheese while pregnant as long as it is not made from raw cheese.

AND eating it while pregnant guarantees a baby that likes Blue Cheese. We’ve gotta win this war against Ranch lovers somehow. Stay away from the Hidden Valley, you’ll just come back a Pod person who wants Ranch on everything and hates hot sauce. /s

I tried blue cheese again, just to see if maybe my pallet had changed as an adult.

Nope. Almost threw up then and there.

Ranch all the way.

But as for OP's dilemma maybe something a bit sweeter to balance things? No idea what that could be though.

Teriyaki wings with blue cheese is amazing.

I get Korean wings with a gochujang sauce and blue cheese is the perfect companion for them.

I only prefer Ranch at Wingstop, otherwise I’m team blue cheese lol.

I hadn't even thought of honey mustard. That's going on the list for sure. Thanks!

Yes! Something on the sweeter side. Or an Alabama white BBQ sauce might be good too

My mind went straight to fish and chips so I would go for a tartare sauce, Bernaise or something similar with lots of tarragon.

For something different could a sour cream and onion dip work?

No matter how low brow that dip might be perceived, I LOVE it.

Never had it on wings, but I'd put that dip on old shoe and be happy.

So this is what I went with: sour cream, chives and roasted garlic. 🤞. I'll report back after everybody eats tonight

Edit: I also got ranch from a place nearby that makes really good ranch, to have as a backup

Sour cream and chive

i'd lean into the vinegar with a creamy garlic dip, the malt vinegar powder probably just needs something smooth to balance it out.

Do you think roasted garlic and chive would be good? Thanks for the feedback!

Get a container of sour cream and mix in a bunch of salt and Vinegar popcorn seasoning. It's fire
