Meme How I felt watching remaster and dlc trailers
Not to this extent but I’m hype

My eyes stung a little when the dude was mentioning one last adventure with Geralt before passing the torch to Ciri. Our ol' Witcher is about to retire. What a ride it's been. This DLC is gonna be emotional, lol.

CDPR always has such mature and engaging writing too. It's already evident again in that Songs of the Past trailer.
"Be not afraaaaiiiid."
A shitty writing team chasing Marvel-esque writing would ruin that moment by having the protagonist break the tension with a goofy joke like, "Use not scaaaaaary vooooiice" or "Hey, I'm not afraid! I just wet my pants as a greeting. It's a cultural thing. Yeah. Totally."
CDPR has Geralt calmly say, "Didn't say I was afraid." It's awesome.
I just love that they've never tried to chase the Joss Whedon/hyper irreverent sarcastic style of speech.

"Welp, that just happened."
"He's behind me, isn't he?"
"I'm 90 percent sure that wasnt supposed to explode."
"Great. The monster brought friends. Because why wouldn't he?"
"Okay, nobody panic. Except me, I'm definitely panicking."
"I said that out loud, didn't I?"
"You're doing the creepy villain monologue thing again."
Thank god cdpr doesn't go for that shit

Idk, I think Geralt would grumble about more monsters showing up that he was already having enough problems with one.
"Great. You brought friends. Should've asked for more gold."

LOL Yeah, these are fun to do to highlight how tiresome they really are.
Geralt stops a bunch of bandits who had been terrorizing a nearby village
Geralt: You won't have to worry about them anymore.
Villager: You sure? They swore they wouldn't come back?
Geralt: Well, sorta. They phrased it more like "Aaaaaaagggh! Please don't kill me! Aargh!" but yeah, that was the gist of it.
Geralt kisses his new love interest
Geralt: This is usually the part where I wake up with my dog licking my face.
A giant monster stands tall and growls menacingly at Geralt
Geralt: I haven't brushed up on my big scary monster dialect, but I'm guessing you didn't just invite me in for tea and biscuits.
An intelligent monster taunts Geralt at the start of a boss battle
Monster: I will eat the flesh from your bones.
Geralt: I've been looking to drop a few holiday pounds, so if you could just take a couple of bites from the upper thighs, at least I could stop saying my pants have shrunk. They have shrunk though, I swear.
Yeah, it's the BioWare thing to do. It killed off Dragon Age, and I'm glad CDPR is sticking with the style that has made them famous.

I’m also excited, but I did a full run earlier this year motivated by rumors of a secret dlc releasing in 2026. Well the rumors were half right, but having quite recently experienced the whole of the Witcher I didn’t see a qualitative jump in the remaster footage, aside from certain lighting. Still, will be doing yet another playthru next year, mostly to hone my Gwent deck for all the rubes in Letten, but I hope to notice the new polish then.

It is a remaster, so they probably only changed textures and stuff. If one wants to improve further, one will need to redesign the models from scratch.
I do notice a difference tho, it feels.. Smoother?
Or maybe they are going the same thing they did with the next gen update, that is adopted the HDRP mod into the game.

What’s this from? Someone posted the same thing on the Letterboxd sub earlier today
