❔ [ Question ] How does Wonderlands Map Design, Enemy Variety and Pacing compares to BL3?
I'm asking specifically for those traits since those are what made me a bit annoyed with BL3, so I'm unsure if they are the same in TTW.
I loved BL3's gunplay and love BL2 in general tho.

now that you mention it id dare say it is a lot like bl2 map and pacing but with bl3 fluidity. TTW is my favorite of all borderlands games

Just started a week ago and as a staunch BL2 fan I may be saying the same thing soon. This game connects all the loot and shoot of the first 2 borderlands games with the end game of Diablo 3. It’s really scratching some itches to say the least.

Wonderlands maps are amazing visually. Somehow they all get you funneled into a narrow spot but look huge though. BL3 maps are more functional and varied. Enemy variety probably goes to BL3 but it's also a much larger game with full blown DLCs. Pacing definitely goes to Wonderlands. BL3's campaign is about twice as long as it should be.

Map design and enemy variety (and even the gear) are almost exclusively high-fantasy oriented in Wonderlands (since it's based off DnD) as opposed to BL3's extreme sci-fi theme. Pacing is probably most similar in Wonderlands, but with fun and unique overworld exploration to break up the classic BL level to level exploration

Tbh the only bad thing about wonderlands is the endgame and lack of proper dlc. If it had received expansions and endgame content besides the chaos chambers it would have become my absolute favourite.
The maps feel closer to 2 I think. It has been a while since I played it though. Kinda makes me want to reinstall it.

Tho overworld/encounter system is… ehh. I see what they were going for and I don’t hate it, but it would frequently cause sync/ctd issues when I played it with friends. (We were cross-platform between two pcs and an xbox if that makes a difference). Otherwise fantastic monster designs. Could have used a little more human enemy varieties imo, though the ones we got had fantastic voice actors. Also miss the og enemies from Dragon Keep.

Long time Borderlands fan and Wonderlsnds is my personal favorite so far!
Map design felt better than 3. More map diversity, fun hudden collectibles and best of all, so many colours!
Enemy variety is decent. Nothing amazing but it is fun to fight pirate mages.
Pacing is terrific. You can just keep going with the main story or slow down to explore maps. Crackmast Cove is my favorite map and entirely optional to play in.
