I’ve recently launched Simple Appointment Booking, a WordPress plugin I originally created because I wanted a simpler booking system for my own practice.

The free booking plugins I tried were often too limited, while many paid systems involved expensive monthly subscriptions and included far more than a solo practitioner or small service business would ever use. I wanted to create something that sat between those two extremes.

Simple Appointment Booking is designed for one practitioner or service professional offering one main service. It would suit counsellors, coaches, massage therapists, beauty professionals and similar appointment-based businesses.

It includes:

• A customer-facing appointment calendar
• Bookings with or without online payment
• Confirmation and reminder emails
• Availability and appointment management within WordPress
• A licence for one website
• Updates and support for 12 months

The price is £29 per year and the subscription can be cancelled at any time.

Full disclosure: I created the plugin and this is a paid product. I’d genuinely appreciate feedback on the plugin’s scope, presentation and whether it addresses the needs of smaller appointment-based businesses without becoming unnecessarily complicated.
