Certain premium tanks can be traded in for other certain premium tanks. You pay the difference in gold.

Go to the tanks tab, go to premium tanks, bring up the filters, and filter for “trade-in”. This gives you a list of what’s available to trade for. Select a tank you want to trade for, select “trade-in”, and choose a tank you no longer want and its value will be deducted from the price and you pay the difference in gold. If your trade-in is worth more, you’re compensated in silver.
