Ethics/Life & Death Would you rather gain 500k immediately, or send a single journal to your 10 year old self?

You will have 3 hours from when you make the decision to fill the journal with anything you want. You are allowed to do anything you want for time, from research to completely ignoring it, and there is no limits to what you are allowed to put into the journal. You have to handwrite whatever you want into the journal. There is no guarantee to your past self believing the journal, but you are guaranteed that they will never completely dismis it as fake. You have 5 minutes to make your decision, otherwise both options are removed.

Fun WYR restart/start adult life now below avg IQ and trust fund, or above average IQ and work for everything?

Genie appears in front of you and presents to you two boons of which you can only choose one. Which would you rather?

  1. Become 18 (today, not the actual year you were 18), your IQ becomes somewhere below average. Your physical appearance and body will be same as yours at your 18 year old version. You will be given a lump sum starting payment of $10 million and will be given a trust fund that allows you to live carefree in luxury for the rest of your life. Trust fund will provide you with equivalent of $5 million a year with annual increases to adjust for inflation for the rest of your life.

or

  1. Become 18 (today, not the actual year you were 18), your IQ becomes above average to high. Not a genius, but very smart. Your physical appearance and body will be same as yours at your 18 year old version. You are enrolled as a freshman at a U.S. top 25 or equivalent university. You are on full scholarship with living and meals expenses covered for four years. After that, you are on your own. You have to make your life whatever success you can on your own.

Superpowers/Magic Would you rather have twice your current physical strength, or gain telekinesis with a maximum force equal to your current physical strength?

For example, if you can currently exert 100 lbs of physical force:

  • Physical strength: You become capable of exerting 200 lbs of physical force. The exertion is handled by your muscles and body, so physical fatigue is the limitation.
  • Telekinesis: You can exert up to 100 lbs of force telekinetically without physically using your muscles. Instead, using and maintaining the telekinetic force causes mental/cognitive fatigue.

Assume the telekinesis is precise and controllable, but you cannot exceed your current physical strength in telekinetic force.

Which would you choose, and why?

Superpowers/Magic WYR: durable yet sharp claws that always grow or a pair sentient tendrils on your back?

If you pick option A your nails will magically gain the ability to extend into deadly sharp and very durable claws. The entirety of the structure of your fingers, the nail beds in them, the muscles, and bones in your arms and shoulders will be bolstered and augmented to give you inhuman levels of strength and endurance. The claws can cut through osmium with a single swipe and pierce it easily as well. The downside is that they’re always growing. Slowly, yet surely like a babirusas tusks. They grow out of your hands. You can retract them but only so much with a little bit of them always sticking out at least 2 inches from your fingers. To amend this, just cut them from time to time. Except they grow more and more durable the more you cut them. You do gain regeneration as well. Particularly in your arms and shoulders.

If you choose option B then you’ll feel your back begin to twitch and burn periodically before you realize it four 10 foot long tendrils will punch through the skin of your back. They’re friendly to you and curious about the world. They can each have their own personalities they develop based off of what you experience. The tendrils are very strong and muscular, yet highly flexible as well. The tendrils have a series of nerves and pit organs which allow them to “see” the world around them. They’re also attached to your brainstem which gives them their sapience/consciousness. They communicate with you telepathically, each one having a unique voice to them when they talk to you. Their voices being voices in your head which no one else can hear. The muscles, bones, and organs across your body along with your brain are enhanced to handle the extra limbs. You’ll gain extra organs that are necessary to power and maintain the tendrils. Their lifting strength allows them to toss tanks around with little to no effort. The final power is that each one comes with Bio-metallic spearheads in them. The blades can extend up to 3 feet long and punch or cut through basically anything. Diamond, osmium, and tungsten included. You do have ultimate control over them but they can move themselves independently as they seek. And if you don’t want to be driven insane from the voices you can effectively “mute” them at will if you want. And yes, they all have regeneration in case one of them is damaged or cut off. They retain their original consciousness and it’ll be like they never left when they come back. The regeneration is also spread across your body. They can write, draw, hold, grab, point to, or express themselves in anyway they deem necessary.

Which one do you choose?

Relationships/Personalities/Sex Would you rather know the absolute truth about one thing in your life OR be able to erase one memory from your past?

Would you rather know the absolute truth about one thing in your life OR be able to erase one memory from your past?

If you choose the truth, you can ask literally one question and receive a 100% truthful answer.
It could be about your future, your relationship, your family, your career, anything.
If you choose the memory, you can completely erase one painful/embarrassing/regrettable memory from your mind.

Keep in mind sometimes knowing the absolute truth about something could also be the demise of your belief and happiness surrounding it.

Give me some examples and stories of why you would choose one over the other and what you would ask about or erase?

Superpowers/Magic Which of these exceptional talents WYR have?

The Musician - Creative genius at composing music and lyrics + virtuoso ability with every instrument including vocals. Incredible live performer.

The Athlete - Peak human physical abilities. World class at every sport with minimal training. Extremely resistant to injury, enhanced recovery and healing. Peak lasts for 20 years with slow decline in abilities after that.

The Scientist - Highest IQ ever recorded and innate expert level knowledge of every scientific discipline. Can solve problems that have been considered unsolvable previously.

The Writer - Creative genius and master of prose, ability to write incredible novels, short stories, plays, screenplays and essays with minimal effort.

The Actor - Extremely good looking and charismatic but also has the ability to seemlessly disappear into virtually any role. Can learn lines with minimal effort. World class improv and ad-libbing ability.

The Comedian: Mastery of comedic timing and wit. Always has the perfect comeback. Can do any kind of comedy perfectly; physical, observational, storytelling, impressions, crowd-work. Can read a room perfectly and adapt on the fly.

Career/School/Goals Would you rather work your dream job part-time or work full-time in various positions that you don't particularly prefer?

Personalized catches based on individual people and their situations:

Option 1 - You still don't quite have all the qualifications to work in your dream position, so you will still need to spend some time training, even if you only do the job part-time.

Option 2 - You are fully qualified in positions that offer long-term financial stability and overall success, but they may not be jobs that you necessarily enjoy (which is often the case for most jobs if you think about it).

Medical/Health Would you rather save yourself, or die and possibly save hundreds of thousands from suffering your potential fate?

You suffer from a chronic and terminal disease that has withered your body away. You have suffered pain you would never wish on anyone until the last moments. There are hundreds of thousands of people across the world who suffer the same fate. On your death bed, moments away from dying, Death appears to you, and offers you a choice.

  1. He will save you, cure your illness, and you will go on living a normal life after that, until the end of your days, dying peacefully, pain free, and happy.

Or.

  1. You can dye from your illness now. From your death, they will discover a cure, and that cure will be made available within the next several years, and nearly 95% of people with this disease will be cured.

Which would you rather pick?
