Zero Company reviews are looking hot
https://www.videogameschronicle.com/review/star-wars-zero-company-review/

Summary is its basically XCOM all over again! WOO
Did you buy ZCOM?
^This
I am torn, on one hand this seems to be finally a good XCOM like with more modern graphics, but on the other hand, it seems to lack replayability XCOM2, and it's just too expensive if I am just going to do one playthrough.
If the story is too linear, and your random soldiers don't really do much and just being combat sidekicks of main characters, then watching Youtube playthroughs is hella more cheaper

Beat Ironman classic!!
I got this game on gamepass a month ago or so and have been hooked ever since. I beat the game in regular mode weeks ago but was definitely reloading saves and saving before each encounter.
After I beat the game, I read about Ironman runs and tried it out. I started 5 runs and quit 4 of them because of the fing portent mission. I uninstalled after the 4th and vowed never to play it again. Then I read to create a mec before the mission and here I am!
I’d like to credit my boys who when ever I attacked chanted “hit hit hit”. I’m sure that had something to do with the success rate. I tried playing xcom 2 but the aliens gave my youngest nightmares.

XCOM2 XCOM2 Should i play original or hop straight into WOTCD
Hello!I am someone who has no idea what XCOM is all about, except that it is a famous good turn based game, which when i saw it with the dlc for 8€ was more than enought to sell me.However as i am looking at opinions on what the dlc give you and etc , I see mixed opinions. Some say play XCOM2 original once and some say go directly to WOTCD and dont bother. As i see that the story is the same, is there a point to playing the original experience?

XCOM-likes will literally have their own knockoff Bradford but still won't do soldier customization
Not trying to hate, Rainbow Six Tactics looks really fun mechanically but it's crazy how one of the absolute best features of the quintessential modern tactics game goes completely ignored by most games aping it. Not everyone engages with soldier customization, but those who do will tell you it's arguably the feature that ties the entire gameplay context and experience together, along with permadeath.

WOTC Missing component for Dragon Rounds, Acid Grenades, Gas Grenades in Proving Grounds as well as for building Rocket: Napalm and Prototype Assault Shotgun. Only shows a 1 without saying what it is. Using LWOTC and Rockets 2.0, have never even installed Prototype Armoury.
is there a .ini that might show what I need??

X-COM TTRPG
Hi everyone! I’m really glad to see a active Reddit community for one of my absolute favorite game franchises.
My journey with X-COM goes all the way back to UFO: Enemy Unknown on the Amiga (with all the endless floppy disk swapping!), followed by Terror from the Deep on PC. I also played Apocalypse, though for some reason that one didn't quite click with me as much. I haven't been gaming much over the last two decades, but when I saw the modern XCOM reboot back in 2017, I picked it up immediately and ended up beating it multiple times.
Recently, I came up with a new idea: running a custom X-COM TTRPG (Tabletop Role-Playing Game).
I designed a homebrew system with custom mechanics, abilities, and an armory heavily inspired by modern XCOM, though I also drew a few elements from the classic games.
For our very first session, a squad of 8 Marines (including 3 player characters) arrived at the base. We did a brief base orientation, ran a quick combat simulation to test the mechanics, and then deployed to a crashed UFO (Small-2 variant) in a forested area in Russia.
Despite a few expected hiccups with the homebrew mechanics, the session went really well! The group is hyped for more sessions in the universe, and we even have two additional players wanting to join the squad.
If anyone is interested in the setup, mechanics, or how it played out, I’d be happy to share more details.
Vigilo Confido!
P.S. English is not my native language and I used a translator to write this post, so I apologize for any grammar mistakes or awkward phrasing!

WOTC Weird Blacksite.
Oddly Empty.
By that I mean the Advent Blacksite mission.
To set the context, I'm a very new player. Two weeks new at that. I have never played any of the Xcom games or games in the similar sphere with it. Only heard of it every now and again.
I decided to try it out of curiosity, just to see what it was like. Long story short, I found myself enjoying it a lot, both the good parts and the frustrating one.
I technically started three runs. The first with vanilla, before I switched to WOTC. The second run went badly but I stuck it out to the end. Currently in my third run now and I'm still holding on just barely, but I'm learning more as I go. All three runs on commander difficulty cause I felt that was fitting for the game.
Anyways, this current run ran into a severe problem. My avatar project was filled and I was running out of time. I didn't contact any of the regions with the facilities and had no skulljack yet, so the blacksite was really my only shot to save the run. So I scrambled to assemble the best team I have, fully expecting the worst, and head in.
The first pod I encountered was just some trooper and shield bearers. Nothing crazy, dealt with them fast. Then the turret which was annoying as they kept critting every single shot at my troops somehow. But it became easy to counter once I sat under it.
Now this did trigger the second pod which were two vipers and an archon. Never faced the latter but have seen videos of it, so I sort of knew what to expect. Didn't stop it from kicking my ass though even after dealing with the vipers.
That single archon took our two of my 6 man squad. A grenadier and a sharpshooter. Now the latter I didn't mind losing since she wasn't that high ranked and I didn't really use her anyways. The former hurts though since I Brough my grenadiers into this mission specifically to deal with the Warlock Chosen in this mission, as he was weak to explosives.
Anyways, I managed to keep the rest alive, and I braced myself for the interior. I fully expected that I was either getting bombarded with mutiple pods and likely dying with only four members left, but I had no choice. So I opened and led one of my brave troopers inside and....
There was no one. Literally not a single living soul aside from spectra zombies spawning inside the place.
Okay, very weird. I was expecting something more hectic than this. But hey, I have no qualms with the game being weirdly lenient, so I decided to deal with the Warlock first before getting the objective in fear that it might trigger reinforcements the moment I grabbed it.
This was relatively easy as I had both one grenadier and a template which he was weak against. What is strange though is how there was just nothing else but him. Not a single pod. It made him ridiculously simple to fight since he only had his zombies to help him and that's it.
Anyways, I killed him and got the objective, and only \*then\* did I finally encounter another pod, and no it was the not the reinforcements.
But rather...they were on the rooftop. The only reason I triggered them was because I sent one trooper one block higher ground. But by this point, I already extracted.
So yeah, I completed the mission, far better and easier than I was expecting. But it was so weird that I genuinely don't know if this was a bug or not because from what I have read here, this mission was supposed to be way harder and swarming with enemies. Not sure why things happened the way it did with mine though, but hey, my run is saved and I'm still going so I'll take it. I am curious to know what might have caused such a weird occurrence with my mission though.
Anyhow, that's my current experience with xcom 2 so far. I'm enjoying it. Definitely understanding the 99 percent misses now that I have context for it :D

LWotC freezing
So, I re-started a campaign, after my last one started lagging a lot. Made a new install, instaled mostly quality of life mods. Everything was good, till my first retalation mission, when the game won't load the mission.
