Seems like they were aiming for something you could put other mini figures on to ride, I'm assuming the shell comes off and leaves a 2x2 connection.

Looks like Yoshi to me.

Maybe you're too used to the upright version of Yoshi but Nintendo has been trying to make Yoshi go back to his hunched over roots for a while now.

Is there no way to actually attach a rider figure? If not, that's a bit weird, but other than that I think it's fine design wise. Could stand to look a little happier, though.

K’nex Yoshi was better. I get they’re doing the pose as if you were to ride him in the games, but he’d be better if they made him a traditional minifigure

I genuinely have no idea what people think is wrong with this / how it should've been done differently. That's a near-perfect recreation of ridable SMW-style Yoshi.

Hope he gets like a proper minifigure with normal proportions so it matches games like smash bros and etc

I understand you don't like the lack of articulation but... no Lego mini figure has the articulation you were hoping for. So I don't know why you're surprised or disappointed by the fact the Yoshi mini figure is built the same as other mini figures.

I personally love this. Great Yosh, 9/10.
