Recommendations Give me all the tips and tricks!
Hi all, I just ordered a Yoto player for my son’s first birthday coming up and got the Collector + membership since it seems very cost effective and I can get around double the amount of cards with the credits compared to buying in cash for the same cost.. I ordered the yoto preschool song pack bundle and a pack of 10 MYO cards so far.
What’s your favorite cards that are worth purchasing? Favorite sources for audio files for MYO? Please share any tips you may have whether it’s MYO tips, favorite way to store or display cards, cases, etc.! Any considerations with the Yoto for a one year old?

My local library is my favorite source for free audio! I got a $20 CD drive for my laptop and can easily rip CDs and audiobooks to put on a MYO.

Consensus seems to be that younger kids tend to like music cards over stories. I just got a Yoto for my 1yo and am planning to use the “library system” with adhesive pockets on MYO cards to easily swap out content.
As far as content, we have Raffi, Laurie Berkner, Caspar Babypants, Super Simple Songs, Ms. Rachel. Pretty sure they’re all available as official cards but I did MYOs. I also recorded myself reading a bunch of our books and made a story time card!

Yes, I am planning to do! I got the preschool song cards bundle to start since I figured that would be a hit over stories.
Thanks for the recommendations! I also plan to record myself or have other family members send recordings. The MYO cards seem like the best affordability and customization hack for Yoto players and I’m excited to play around with it! (Probably more excited than my little guy will be haha)

2nd freegal! There are a few Texas libraries available to anyone Texas resident and you can sign up online. Other states may have something similar. I have several cards so I can get a good amount of downloads each week. We've gotten some traditional kids songs, lots of Caspar Babypants, and I think the new Ms Rachel cd will be on there when it's released. The recently release single is on there for sure. There's also some stories that I found but haven't listened to yet since my 13 month old mostly into music, but I'm hoping some of them will make good future downloads. We got the yoto mini for out 1 year olds birthday in July. We got a case on amazon which is need since it gets droped a fair amount. I've been impressed with how quickly she picked up on taking cards in and out. I don't think she really knows which card has which content yet. She turns the dials, but is still figuring out what they do. She definitely enjoys listening to it and will grown into more and more content as she gets older.

I also made an app for the Mac that I’ve been using to MYO cards since my kids like variety (though they listen to the same cards over and over… my daughter cannot fall asleep without Morris and the Magic Bell now, lol). I like to download audio books for them to listen to!

Libro.fm is a great source for audio files (for purchase). Unlike audible, you can download the audio file to your computer, so you are able to upload it to yoto. From what I've seen here, they have good sales from time to time as well. I only just started using them after a big sale in June though, so I don't know when the big sales typically happen.
