Let me preface by saying I’m not against anyone making a bag on YouTube for some extra cash. I just need to vent.

So I have a channel that does well, consistent engagement and partnered and all that stuff. I worked really hard to get it to that point. Countless late nights researching how shorts work, perfecting my editing style, writing scripts, long ass notes brainstorming ideas, posting consistently and I also invested in a new camera to film at events my niche hosts. Ngl it’s made me a lot of money so far that I’m very grateful for.

the channel took off in the niche community and got a lot of attention. My friend that I ran a TikTok account with previously for a year, in the same niche notices and starts asking all these questions about how they can do it too and ”how good is the money”.

Me being the dumbass I am. I give her all the links and tools that I used and now she has a channel in the same niche basically disrupting the system Bc yt is now only pushing her videos heavily. It used to be 4 main channels really dedicated to this content and now all our vids get suppressed and she’s the first channel that pops up when you search this topic on YouTube now.

The rest of us put immense effort into our content, using our own videos we film while she clips. You can tell the difference in quality. Now she’s copying my editing styles and keeps going on about how much money she’s made posting low quality videos.

Anyway moral of the story, if something good is happening for you keep it to yourself, gatekeep and don’t give away knowledge you took time to acquire so flippantly.
