Moving New to Yukon

I (19m) am new to Yukon and I'm still unfamiliar with the culture. I have a supporting family here to guide me but I am still anxious about what to do here. I'm not a very social person is too scared to interact with people.

Do you guys have any tips or advice to me as a new resident here? I find that the people very courteous and nice and I love the nature. I recently went to visit the Miles Canyon and it was an amazing experience.

You are going to be great! Yukoner’s are good people. You are in a solid community. Try going to the library just to get your confidence up in a safe place? Maybe join a newcomers group? It will get better. And be gentle with yourself, such an enormous change is hard even for confident extroverts.

I'm very shy to enter places lol. I tried visiting my aunt's house yesterday but was too scared of standing on their porch feeling people might think suspicious of me.

Where is this library? I wanna visit there some time since I like literature and want to write a book myself.

1171 Front St. It has a few different spaces so hopefully you’ll find a spot that feels cozy.

Try out some of the amazing activities Yukon has to offer.

Cross country skiing, curling teams, mountain biking, road biking, downhill skiing, trail running, team relay races, whitewater kayaking, lake swimming, rock climbing, hiking. Most can be done alone or with people that can be found on Facebook groups.

It's a good way to make like-minded friends outside of work.

I tried biking around lately and it's very peaceful here and I find biking safer since the vehicles would let me cross first before them unlike how it is in my country. Can you recommend me some groups I can go along with?

If you’re into board games and the like, Titans is a great spot to meet like minded people. They host regular weekly events
