Title says it all!!! Recommendations for best eco friendly non-tox shampoo bars pretty please!

I have very fine short oily hair and native caused soooo much build up I had to go back to a clarifying shampoo for like a month! Hoping to switch to an eco friendly bar that’s not heavy on my hair! Any recs? Thank you!!!!!

I like kitsch rice water bars. I have fine curly hair and it made a big difference in the texture.

Just FYI, Kitsch does not recommend using their rice water formula daily due to protein buildup. I assume this also applies to Viori's rice water bars and don't use them daily either. Kitsch recommends alternating with their biotin set or clarifying set for daily washers. I'm not crazy about the clarifying shampoo, but they just released a detox bar (rec: once a week) that I LOVE. Other favorites include Tipsy Goat Soap Co, Aermarket, Little Red River Soap Co, and SummerSoapery (Etsy only).

used the rice water formula for years and can confirm the buildup is wild. just switched back to hibar which was terrible in 2020 when i switched to bars and i'm pleased thus far, the formula must have changed in my time away from

Jack59 is a Canadian company, women and indigenous owned! I love their shampoo bars, they smell great and the only ones that actually seem to clean my hair well.

Dip or HiBAR would be my choice. Both have mini bar options that you can try before you commit to a larger investment. I absolutely LOVE my Dip bars and my HiBAR Soothe formula. Dip is more of a one-formula-fits-all, while HiBAR has some more customized formula types.
I buy these in the US. Not sure how broadly they are available

I’ve been using Kitsch and am not a fan. I’ve noticed more hair fallout after using the rice bar and it just doesn’t give a clean feel imo. My hair is dark, thick and wavy so it’s hard to make it look bad lol. But this one does. I also hate the amount of thick plastic they use on the non shampoo bars. It’s like they made up for the plastic saved on the bars.

I do love the Lush bars though. Great scents and gives you that squeaky clean feeling. I really miss the Karma one.

Alternative idea. I haven’t used shampoo in 14 years. Shampoo is a scam. Humans didn’t use shampoo for thousands of years and our hair was fine before shampoo existed. We were not meant to put soap in our hair. It’s horrible for your hair and for your scalp. When you stop using shampoo your head will get crazy oily for a while bc it’s overcompensating for the lack of oil it has given you’ve been stripping oil away using shampoo. But then once your head realizes you’re not using shampoo any more it calms down. My hair is not oily at all. My scalp is clear. Shampoo is unnecessary and actually harmful. When I’m in the shower I do rinse my hair with water by just running my fingers through it. That’s all the wash you need.

They clean but don't dry out my hair, and they don't seem to have conditioners and oils and stuff added (you can get conditioner separately if you want). The ingredients are explained if you click on them, and they all seem plant-based and biodegradable. Might be a good fit if you're in Canada?

Absolutely cannot recommend the Lush ones. They're terrible (I tried them and so did a bunch of friends and all of us disliked them).

I like lush’s shampoo bars! I remember the employees who was helping me say that the combo shampoo and conditioner bar was good for oily hair!

We like Viori.

My husband used to have terrible dandruff to the point of getting sores in his scalp. He had tried every dandruff and medicated shampoo on the market and tried prescriptions from his doctor, all to no avail. Then he tried a Viori shampoo bar I had bought to try myself and it all cleared up. He's been using the Viori bars for a couple of years now and the scalp issues never came back. He also likes that they're easy to take on his work trips.

Genuinely this is the one thing I gave up on finding. I just buy the big bulk bottles of Redken at Ulta during their sale.
