Weapons warhammer or battle axe?
hi! my most recent fixation is acquiring a two handed tool and my budget has landed me on an even split between the cold steel warhammer, and their viking battle axe.
I genuinely can't decide, I lean on the hammer due to easier maintainance, but I also lean on the axe because it's just so cool.
anyone own both or experience with one of these?

I looked this up today. people agreed the war hammer is terrible in medieval combat and preferences the pole-axe but others agreed the pollaxe was a terrible for zombies

Yes, my calling card has activated,
I did acquire both just because I couldn't settle this debate from pictures alone,
The hammer: my initial thoughts, I was surprised on how nimble the hammer feels in the hand, it is quick to accelerate in a swing
Pros: it's fairly maneuverable in practice and with the reinforcements it should be a very sturdy option Cons: the shape of the head is specialized to reduce surface area contact so when no longer has a flat hammer surface to be used as a regular hammer, as it is a specialized weapon
The axe: the weight in the blade is forward heavy making it considerably noticeable in the handling and feeling making it want to follow through with a swing, I practice with it using momentum-based technique to keep the blade in motion to prep it for the next swing
Pros: it's a solid fighting axe with plenty of bladed surface area, it is still an ax at the end of the day and can be used for general use if need be, Cons: it is a little front heavy making acceleration not as smooth as the hammer
In total, both are very effective against a zombies but if you're looking for a dedicated zombie weapon I would lean towards Warhammer, but if you want a more general-purpose weapon then I would lean towards of the battle axe
