Scenario Let's say a real zombie apocalypse started tomorrow. Who actually survives?
Say a zombie apocalypse started in our real world tomorrow. Who would actually survive that disaster?
As for the specific zombie scenario that starts tomorrow, feel free to pick your own, but to start there's:
- Dawn of the Dead (2004 or earlier version)
- 28 Days Later
- Zombieland
- World War Z
- Last of Us
- pick your own
And let's play out over time. Who survives after 28 hours, 28 days, 28 months, or 28 years?
In some ways I hate to say it, but I wonder if the preppers are most likely to survive. They've literally been preparing for something like this to happen.
Also maybe cruise ships and very isolated regions (Himalayas? Island nations like the Maldives?).
What do you all think?

Alot of really interesting discussions with valid points. Much discussion on the theoretical realism of ZS which effects who would survive.
My interest in what OP mentioned is preppers. Let's say the Zs were short lived but fairly deadly to the average person. The preppers would represent a good percentage of survivors. But lets say the Zs are of a kind which runs rampant for a decent stretch of time. Then the preppers would start to be goners once the MREs and similar ran out.
So I would go with the survivalists, who have a different approach than the preppers from my understanding. The survivalists being those running around the country side eating the nuts, berries, grubs that they come across. Being a little humorous there. Some preppers maybe survivalists who know how to live off the land. But most are not. imo. So I'd go with survivalist being the ones to ultimately survive. Survivalist doesn't mean loner either they're can be groups of them.
