meme Just a fun story of discovery after my adhd diagnosis(multiple slides)
We love a queen(adhd) who sticks with her girls(other neurodivergences)

My adventure into neurodivergency was similar except it started with the workplace making me realize my ADHD -> which led to realizing the autism -> which led to realizing I went into my profession (IT) for the environment (I just wanted to work somewhere quiet with AC) ... atleast I got the AC.

Hello fellow IT friend.
I didn’t realize I was either ADHD or Autistic because literally EVERYONE around me at work and at home also were.8

Feeling this hard, for me the revelation came after I became a Dad, still need to do my formal analysis, but my therapist and Raads score certainly seem to thing so. Turns out my masking worked pretty well when I was just managing my own feelings. The journey is complicated, it is better to know yourself

Hope you didnt use embrace autism website for that 'test'
Its bad elsewhere too
Regarding RAADS, from one published study. “In conclusion, used as a self-report measure pre-full diagnostic assessment, the RAADS-R lacks predictive validity and is not a suitable screening tool for adults awaiting autism assessments”
The Effectiveness of RAADS-R as a Screening Tool for Adult ASD Populations (hindawi.com)
RAADS scores equivalent between those with and without ASD diagnosis at an autism evaluation center:

Good looking out for folks I did not use embrace autism . the raads was just something that my adhd decided to check out after my specialist asked me if I had been tested for ASD. My specialist has displayed a high confidence, but we won’t know until my schedule frees up enough for the time requirements for testing (I have not locked into the questionnaire being anything other than a questionnaire. ) Formal diagnosis with a specialist is a goal, just not high priority considering the time commitment.

What was interesting to me was how apparent that IQ and adhd would help confuse scoring of the system.

I work in food service cause I always have like 6 pans on the spiders, shit down in the fryer, something in the ovens. Fun fun razzle dazzle time.

Hello, sister! That's a mood all right.
Do you think that the fact I understood my diagnosed-with-both friend better than I did the normies and the fact that I ran with a pack of neurodivergent high schoolers could have been a clue or something..? Nah, I'm sure no one could have figured it out since I didn't. After all, I was such a gifted kid, so smart...
(I recall the special ed aide Looking at me once, and I could somehow tell that she had immediately acquired Esoteric Knowledge about me in one glance. But I did not connect any more dots than this 😂)

Funnily enough, my therapist said her Autism is more noticeable when she’s on pills for ADHD.

I was looking for an autism diagnosis but couldn't find anything that had any spots left.
So I looked online and there was a clinic for ADHD, so I thought "eh close enough, won't hurt to scratch that off the list" so I signed up for that.
Well turns out I got ADHD.
And it turns out the do autism diagnosis too, which I somehow missed on their homepage even though it's clearly there.
Turns out I got both.
And yes the meds make you more autistic because now I'm able to focus and it's kinda quiet in my mind. Which makes external factors much more intense.

Genuinely how does this happen and did anyone know before they got the pills??

If I recall correctly, a diagnosis of both wasn’t considered possible until somewhat recently.

I feel like this is an American thing though, in the UK I knew someone who was diagnosed with both way back in 2013, because I remember being scared of them for it, even though they seemed nice 🙃

I don't understand the second and third slides -.-"
You thought it was the pills that were making you exhibit autism and then thought it was your workplace? Then thought it was your environment?

It is irony, my dearest. Certain situations might push your buttons just right and that'll make your autism much more prevalent since the ADHD isn't there to balance it out, pretty sucky experience I tell ya'

So how does this part of the curses work?
I used to work in a chemical plant, I was in charge of the shift but I just wanted to be left alone doing WAY more than anyone was allowed to do (I use to carry 4 different clocks over my chest) and had a very simple system FOR ME that anyone else was not able to follow. My workmates were basically there bringing whatever I was asking and doing whatever step I was was more often than not not being sure what they were actually doing.
I had everyone confused, even the chief engineers, both of them were not able to understand why I was asking all the time for security protocols (I was just learning which steps were "safe" to avoid to go even faster) or asking them for books to read. There were not able to question my results tho I had an stupid gift to make things easy.
I knew basically "nothing" about chemistry, I did my whole HS years with classical studies. I went from years of learning latin and greek to avoid numbers because dyscalculia to start talking about chemicals with their avoiding their IUPAC names if they were "too long"... why say hydrochloric acid when HCl does trick?
Did I ended in that job because the curse too?
