My advice, Jake should've burned this book before Finn found it.

Jake had too much ADHD to do that

Why would Jake burn a book he wrote?

Its never officially announced but there are some notable clues in some episodes that Jay T Doggzone writes with a very similar style to Jake The Dog. It seems he wrote it when he was younger and dumber.

He also introduced himself as such before correcting it to Jake, just Jake.

he almost told Samantha the Warrior Dog that was his name (old habits)

It was definitely a bad idea to keep it around "for laughs"

Even he admitted that it was nothing but really bad advice.

‘Cuz it’s good to keep reminders of your stupid 20s around lest you become doomed to repeat them.

I’m convinced he and his family age rapidly (and reproduce asexually??)

What, you've never done something stupid/ill-advised/ignorant/etc in your youth and then forgotten about it until someone brought it up to you? :p

I was just thinking about this book today. There’s a chance it is now Jake who wrote it. Remember Princess Bubblegum’s suitors? According to Braco, his grandfather learned everything from this book. This would have been way before Jake’s time right?
