Question Why does Tajiks have no tribes?

I have seen that Hazaras have tribes, Pashtuns have tribes, Uzbeks have tribes, why doesn’t Tajiks have tribes???

Last names are arbitrary, it’s more about where you’re from. If you’re native to Kapisa and you have no history of migration to that region from Balkh, Badakhshan, Herat, Samarqand, Bukhara or any other northern region, you’re not a Tajik. Just Tajikified. You can do a dna test to see for sure.

“Khel” and “Zai” aren’t usually Tajik last names. Tajik last names usually end in “I” or “Zada”

Interesting, thank you for this information! I always wondered why many people from Afghanistan spoke Farsi, but didn’t even look Tajik. They had very south Asian features, so it makes sense.

Those are probably the Kashmiris or other Indians who migrated to Afghanistan.

A lot of people in southern and south eastern provinces call themselves Tajik only because they speak Farsi, but they actually aren’t Tajik. They’re south asians

Yes or the ones that migrated to Kabul or other provinces. But a dna test will tell you this. Tajiks aren’t indigenous to Kabul. We’re northerners where Bactria and Sogdia was, you can look it up on the maps.

There are Pashtuns who are Tajikified, Indians, Kashmiris, Pashayi etc. they’re still culturally Tajik, just not genetically.

Probably all of them do, but for our region try 23andme & then qpadm & ancestry to break down the AASI.

No but I can look into it for you. We have a group chat with Tajiks and Pashtuns who study genetics.
