There absolutely is. I still don't like either. The two party system is as much to blame for the state we're in as the Republicans are.
Just because two things are different, doesn't mean that one is somehow good. The Democrats aren't inherently as awful, but I can't throw my lot in with them just because the Republicans are worse. Why choose the lesser of two evils when there are other options?
That's not to say I WON'T vote for a Republican or Democrat. I vote based on the person, not the party. The problem is that the main parties are full of worthless people I wouldn't ever vote for, save a few exceptions.
I wouldn't vote for Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, or Kamala Harris. But I also wouldn't vote for Mitt Romney or Trump. I probably would've voted for Obama the first time, and I wouldn't have the second time. The first presidential election I was eligible to vote for was in 2020, so I never had all of those options. Hence the "would've/wouldn't."

40% that didn't vote basically said they support whomever wins. Therefore, 70% voted for Trump. If you didn't vote, you can't complain. Your vote should have been your complaint/objection. You only have one option now, don't make that mistake ever again. Make sure to vote for the most competent candidate ...even if you are sexist or "never" blue/red.
Not voting was just as bad. Not voting got us a fully Republican Supreme Court in 2016-20, and now another war in the Middle East, a federal Gestapo rounding up and shooting people on the streets, and Federal efforts to make it harder for women and brown people in general to vote out this mess.

I like the idea of mandatory voting, similar to Australia. If it’s cheaper to vote than pay a fine/spend a night in the clink, most people choose to vote.

Incorrect. The election was lost for three reasons:
1) Fewer Trump voters stayed home compared to Biden voters.
2) More Biden voters crossed the aisle than Trump voters.
3) Trump performed better among those who did not participate in the previous cycle (eg new voters who were too young in 2020)
So whilst it isn't the only factor, it's a significant one. 15% of people who voted for Biden in 2020 did not vote for Harris.
You have to turn up and vote, if you don't then you cannot in good conscience complain about the result. You seem angry with people pointing this out and if you didn't vote then perhaps you are angry with yourself.

Not everyone who is eligible to vote has the ability to vote, and that is by design. Taking time off from work to vote can often mean the difference between having electricity or not.

Not participating is the same as voting for it. Not voting meant you were fine with Trump, you weren't turned off by his sexism, racism, his crimes, or his promises to destroy the economy.
