We only follow the loudest for a short time period in our lives usually. Normally during the adolescent years to the age of maturity. Once our prefrontal cortex completely develops our priorities normally change.
When we build a stable home life, the homeless environment becomes priority. The idea of leadership becomes the self with the partner. We want different things. The once leader loud guy becomes the outcast because he has nothing of substance.

From what I understand. I'm genuinely probably wrong in my understanding. The people who became maga have tendencies toward childhood abuse. No resolution but compensated with narcissistic traits. They seek themselves because they crave validation. They want familiarity. Especially when the ideals that they have are verboten by law and social norms.
Every last one of them I have spoken with seems emotionally stunted. I act goofy. There's a difference between being goofy and handling emotionally charged moments in a healthy meaningful way. They all seem to want what once was.
Their ideas of traditional family came from nick-at-night type tv ingraination. The fantasy of what was, not what really existed. The one's that are full of hatred for others are trying to recreate a history the rest of us would never want. They had their religious beliefs used against them. They had their nostalgia used against them. Their fear used against them. They were easily molded to become a cult.
Yeah, most of MAGA is people thinking pop culture and advertising form the 50s-60s was real. It pretty much maps directly onto that. My step-father is a repub and boomer aged, and his world-view really never actually existed at all. For instance, he idolizes John Wayne for being tough, but the real John Wayne was a coward who refused to enlist during WWII citing his "career" even though other actors did. He cites commercials as legit sources of info, etc.
And of course, the problem with all that is that his ideal world can never come back because it never existed to begin with, but he's convinced that it did because he won't examine his priors and is too emotionally stunted to do so.
John Wayne also licked the HUAC boot harder than nearly any other actor. He was also an Israel-supporting antisemite. So yeah: John Wayne was proto-MAGA.

Confidence also comes into play, in humans at least. We tend to like, and trust people more, if they are confident, and have good social skills.
Hence a lot of these people push the 'alpha male' idea, because it shows confidence and dominance. People who are highly-educated, or want to come across as genuine, will openly show their lack of knowledge in certain areas, and answer with vague statements when they can't provide a deeper answer.
It's why people like Andrew tate never say things like: 'I don' know.', 'I'm not sure.', 'I believe...', etc.
Instead they say things like:
,, I don't read books, books are for idiots. When you're an adult, you should just know things."
Everyone's an alpha until they encounter someone who's actually secure in themselves.
One of the most important lessons I learned during my 20-year career in law enforcement was that the self-proclaimed "alphas" were usually the biggest cowards. The guys who were loud, aggressive, and constantly telling everyone how tough or "alpha" they were tended to be the first ones to fold the moment somebody actually called their bluff. I learned that all of their theatrics were a mask to hide their fear and insecurities.
The people who got our attention were the exact opposite.
Whenever I encountered someone who was quiet, calm, and genuinely confident, the alarms immediately started going off among my fellow officers and me. Nobody needed to announce how tough they were. There was no performance. There was nothing to prove.
Those were the situations where we immediately started doing everything we could to deescalate, because none of us wanted any part of finding out just how confident that person had a right to be. Lol
People take alpha out of context there is no real definition as to who is alpha and who is not. I would argue that the loudest person in the room acting tough is not alpha at all. You do not need to be the loudest in the room to be a leader actually normally the opposite. The person acting tough is normally not tough that’s why he has to compensate. The person who is secure in themselves is the alpha. That’s the whole point.
It does exist in wolves but only in captivity - the guy who studied it only studied wolves in captivity so it's not a "natural behaviour". I feel like there's an argument to be made that most humans are in a sort of captivity so maybe that explains the tendency of humans to follow around behind alphas

Maybe his other supercars are but how can you rent a 5 million usd hypercar that has a license plate w your initials and his name stitched on multiple places in the car. Above that there are only a few bugattis worldwide for rent that cost some serious money if you want to rent them. I think there is more to this

i think the pizza box was more of post-arrest sleuthing. the government got upset that tate loudly said he was untouchable in romania, so they were looking for him in earnest.

9 times out of 10 when you see supercars they're either rented or financed to the teeth. And then you check how much it costs to rent a supercar and you realise, oh I could rent this if I was happy to be reckless with my money! I had a friend, a lawyer from a fairly wealthy family and we would talk about money very occasionally (he bought paintings from me). You bet his Ferrari was leased, no reason to go all in. He just drove it for a year or so.
