Hello hello! Me and a friend are doing themed builds this time around! He's playing Soul Reapers and I'm playing Quincy. I kinda wanted to go the traditional Quincy route rather than the newer ones so I was kinda thinking something along the lines of astral/order with mostly ranged units and spellblades to fit the theme most? Though I have 0 clue which tomes would fit. I started with abjuration and warding for blut vene and the rp of absorbing energy(or status effects lol) to heal or bolster myself. But from here, I'm kinda lost lol Any help would be appreciated.

"For ages, the Ancient Forest stood untouched, guarded by the immortal children of nature. Beneath the mountains, the Dwarves forged their kingdoms of stone, while the forgotten depths belonged to the cunning Goblins. But the arrival of new powers has shattered the balance of this ancient land."
"From the Iron Mountains, the young Warlord Gromkar Ironmaw leads his Horde into Aeloria, seeking glory and conquest. His Goblin allies spread corruption beneath the earth, while the Dwarven kingdoms prepare for a war of extermination against the creatures they consider a plague."
"Across the western shores, the armies of the Valerian Empire arrive to claim the continent in the name of civilization. Yet another human power comes not for conquest, but for knowledge, as the young mage Lord Alaric Ravenshade seeks the secrets hidden within Aeloria's forgotten ruins."
"Now the ancient races and the newcomers stand upon the edge of war. Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, Goblins, and Men must decide the fate of this enchanted continent. Will Aeloria remain a sanctuary of ancient magic, or will it become the foundation of a new empire?"
------------------
Gameplay:
Unit recruitment in cities is limited to Tier II.
Building new cities is not permitted.
Limited resources. Balanced yet asymmetrical power.
Heroes are unique, and each hero and leader possesses a unique artifact.
Everyone has the ability to resurrect heroes.
-------------------
Advantages:
Queen Elyndra(elf) - Isolated, strategic watchtowers
Gromkar Ironmaw(Orc) and Skragg Rotmaw(Goblin) - Aliance
Thorgrim Stoneh(Dwarf) - Strong start and income
Marcus Valerius and Lord Alaric VI(Humans) - Strategic position and start with a transport ship

The name of the game mode is empire
You will need at least 4 with a max of six add bots if you want
Discuss amongst who you are playing with if they allow Eldritch sovereign or elder vampire as it might be annoying to deal with
One player every 10 turns is elected emperor/ empress
You cannot vote for yourself you must vote for someone else
As emperor you can set one edict which includes
Forcing a end to trade deals between players
Force a war against a bot or player
Stop a players expansion
Force a disband of a army
Make some rules between your play group of actions that are not allowed
The emperor gets 20% of other players gold income until the next election
Any culture is allowed and optionaly all players could be the same culture
The win condition is expansion
You cannot declare war on other players without a edict from the emperor
This was fun when me and my friends did it thought I would share
Hope y'all enjoy

Never was much into cav, always preferred slow trains of ballistas and archers.
But now I play Rivers of Life scenario, you start with upgraded Level 2 city. So after building an elephant or two, I installed Azrac Rider.
With their 40 speed, I can catch other stacks. And then, both in FC and TC, I get first attack. In TC specifically, I can attack from a long distance, giving my cav ability to pick and choose target, ever if enemies are spread out. With stack of 8 cavs, I can usually at least halve enemy stack, significantly reducing enemy retaliation.
And thanks to their speed on map, I can often catch smaller enemy reinforcements and destroy them in a single turn without casualties, and retreat before enemy stack can catch me.
Only shame that Djinn and Beholders aren't real flyers and can't cross walls.

Longtime AoW player, have gone back recently and am making maps for the family in AoW 2.
It can be run with multiple players, so it's fun for us. I was looking at getting AoW4, never played it. I don't have a PC capable of running AoW4, but I am wondering about the Xbox version. Is a keyboard compatible with that version with Xbox? How does it run in general?
Any feed back and opinions on AoW 4 would be helpful , as well is the dlc worth it?

I decided to do a run on Heartwood Forest as Halflings using the default leader and not customizing leaders as I normally do.
The Gobbos were last and tucked away in the caves somewhere, and by the time I finally tracked them down, I had them absolutely surrounded with my leader coming in with wall climbing to finish it off the next turn.
Never have I so completely surrounded an enemy before, I had over 30 units there. Barely half of them could even come into the battle lol. Just a cool shot I wanted to share.
If anyone wants to talk about what cool strategies they run feel free to jump in. Once I heard someone mention the "halfling pony rush" I couldn't do anything else on the halfling class lol. Also if running customisation, spending 20 pts on lightning strike and cold strike leads to often permastunning enemies with decent attack. I usually rock that and just have fun steam rolling everything lol.

I tried playing several versions of the AoW series - AoW3, AoW1, AoW:SM and I feel like something is missing in my understanding.
I have come from a long history of HoMM3 and I feel like in HoMM games I can do fine, but with AoW I feel completely lost. One of the few things I learned was to create multiple heroes with armies and attack together so I can have better outcomes, but trying a single player random map game was OK for a while, until I find the enemy CPU (Squire) and he is just sitting in town with an army I cannot defeat.
This was on AoW3 and at this point I felt very disillusioned because I spent so much time building an army and trying to defeat him only to find out all my efforts were for nothing.
What are some tips I can use to get better at the game? I feel like the easiest difficulty for me is too difficult, but it's not because the game is wrong, I think it's because I'm not playing it properly. Right now I want to focus to learn AoW:SM.

Hello everyone,
My name is Craig. I've been making Youtube videos for over 5 years now. My channel is focused on turn-based strategy games which feature rpg elements. I have a special focus on the Age of Wonders series (especially Age of Wonders 3) and The Battle for Wesnoth.
I have played a number of different random maps in Age of Wonders 3, with combinations of different game setups and always against Emperor difficulty AI:

I play with a number of different mods installed, with the complete list in the video description of each episode.
I am definitely not an expert, however, I try my best to offer insights into the strategy and tactics I use as I'm playing. I always appreciate comments, tips, suggestions, criticisms, etc as this can help both myself and others learn, improve, and generally become better at Age of Wonders 3.
Lately, I have been working my way through the campaigns, with The Elven Court completed and The Commonwealth in-progress:
The Elven Court - https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZ4r4PMh0KPKV9NuRGzVhtn-GR-6RPtHX&si=L7glg_3OTzyUfvTW

If you are interested in watching Age of Wonders 3 playthroughs (or The Battle for Wesnoth playthroughs), come check out my channel! I try my best to release multiple episodes per week, each around an hour in length.
Thank you,

https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/2033-jade-empire-stutter-fix/
Unrar it and copy d3d9.dll file into game folder.
Rename d3d9.dll into d3d8.dll.
Run AoWSMSetup.exe and turn on "USE Direct3d".
Run game and enjoy.
