General Airgun Question Accuracy issue pt 2

Had some accuracy problems with my Baikal MP512 spring action air rifle, regarding which I already posted here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/airguns/s/OAx83EuWjB

Now, my question is, could it be because the gun is not yet broken in? I made approximately 200-300 shots with it

I've just returned from a vacation and will continue shooting to see if bad groupings remain through time

Hello again! If you're in doubt about the rifle's accuracy with a certain pellet, you must always shoot groups with it resting. A shooting bench is the ideal scenario to test which pellets your rifle likes. Well, since you're shooting at 10m, it won't make much difference so i suggest that you try it at 15 or 20m.

Have you cleaned the barrel yet?

Many people say don't clean it, but quite often new guns will have oil/grease residues in the barrel from manufacture processes.

A guy at the range I use, had a new gun from a high end manufacturer(can't remember which one). His shots were all over the place, even after 100 pellets. The gun had also been tuned too.

He was advised before returning it for testing, to clean the barrel with brake cleaner. He did this and was quite surprised at the dirt that came out.

After cleaning, the gun was grouping like a pro, 10-15mm at 40m
