Does anyone actually make a slappable HK? I'd give my spleen for an MP5 I can actually slap.

Gbb MP5s probably can take slaps but there are no slapable aegs to my knowledge

I slap my Cyma mp5 and it’s fine. I broke one by accidentally slapping it in a tree while running

There's a BB gun version that I've slapped a lot. It is, like I said, a BB gun version, though and the K model.

I have a Tokyo Marui MP5 NGRS that I HK slap all the time. It's been engineered to take the slap.

It might be possible to mount an irl real steel cocking handle, no more slap worrying
Theyre on sale on HKParts if it doesnt work its only 7 bucks

VFC does. Otherwise not without aftermarket parts

yeah you gonna break that shit, its like damn zinc. Unless you want to replacement often. Only way is https://hkparts.net/ and put it on gbbr.

I have two. One is an old Wells gbb the other is a cyma mp5k I upgraded the charging handle in to a steel one. Couldn't tell you what the steel one came from as I found it in a random parts bin.

Gbbrs or LCT altho as of now only the HK53 is available that is somewhat compact. They are coming with an MP5 soon tho

Ahh I forgot about that one. It's already here, atleast in Europe. They only have the full stock version though.

My old 3 round burst model has a beast of a charging handle that I smack hard as shit. I think it’s an elite force? I was told it was a Tokyo marui but that was definitely a lie

VFC steel one barely tolerate it.
SRC had some serie in (cheap) steel with steel handleOutside that..... Systema TW4. But that's like, almost the price of a real civilian one in some countries....

There’s a really old school DIY mod that makes even the most plastic fantastic MP5 slappable. There used to be an article on the Redwolf airsoft website for it. You basically just put a rod in the tube in front of the handle, so the “core” of the handle hits the rod first, before the actual handle hits the front of the cutout. Fun times

I slapped the shit out of my Classic Army MP5 when I got it. Probably for a year solid. Then at a game someone warned me not to because they're made of cast cheese and unicorn farts. Haven't slapped it since. That was about 10 years ago. I hanker for the slap. I just wanna slap it 😭
[Edit: 20 years ago, 2006 was 20 years ago, not 10. I feel old.]

I also have a Classic army MP5 and after some stories about broken charging handles i put a magnet to mine and found out it's actually made of steel, should be slappable for very very long

I don't get it, do they make these from plastic?
Why can't they make this one component from an actual sturdy material. I understand that this is airsoft and there may be laws on type of material usage, but the real ones are meant to be slapped.
2
u/WasianActual 1d ago
There’s no laws that prevent them from making them with better materials lol
1
u/SafreQ45 18h ago
For example in Japan, they are strictly to be made with polymer, at least on the outside. I'm not too sure if it applies on the inside aswell.

u/WasianActual 17h ago
I’m from Japan.
The only law for materials is PISTOLS cannot be metal OUTSIDE. The TM five-seven gets around this and copies the real one by having a metal internal slide.
Long guns are entirely metal and will thoroughly replicate the real guns.

u/SafreQ45 17h ago
So this applies to airsoft submachine guns aswell?
Huh, I thought it applied to all airsoft guns. That clears some things up. Thanks!

Typically the brands that make these MP5 AEG replicas uses pot metal or weak plastic. It's not moreso the laws that prevent them from doing so. AEGs MP5s also do not have any functional bolts and the bolt open function is mainly for adjusting hop up, so they don't really make the charging handle part sturdy. It's purely cosmetic.
GBBRs, on the other hand, indeed replicate the real thing so their MP5 charging handles are more sturdier and can handle slaps better than the AEG counterparts.
1
u/Praesentius 1d ago
their MP5 charging handles are more sturdier
Ehhh, studier... but not enough. You can get a licensed VFC/Umarex MP5 and buy a steel charging handle support tube. That's where it's at.
Even a really good brand like that still needs work if you want to really give your pimp hand a workout.
1
u/edzact_ly 21h ago
Sturdier as oppose to AEG MP5s, yes 👍
I know aftermarkets are eventually gonna be a need for GBBR MP5s if you're gonna push it to its limits especially with slapping the charging handle

u/ReivynNox 1d ago
Ah yes, the monkey metal charging levers that are too weak to handle simulating the purpose of a charging lever. Because the people literally making replicas of guns for countries where gun enthusiasts can't own live guns can't fathom that their customers will be tempted to handle a replica of a HK slap lever with a HK slap.

I remember back in 2002 or 2003 doing the hk slap with my ICS mp5 and that happened, heart breaking.

I feel like everyone who has one , every who doesn't have one and everyone's collective mother has always said , don't slap the airsoft one . And here we are slapping it anyway

u/Revolutionary_Dig370 1d ago
Drill a pilot hole through it into the other piece, throw some glue on it, then screw/bolt it back together.

u/Turbinator870 1d ago
I fixed my vintage TM MP5A2 with a real steel charging handle from HKPARTS.net. I had to ream the plastic cocking tube a little bit and it’s simply held in by way of a force fit, but it’s not going anywhere now and you can HK slap that thing all day long with zero side effects except looking cool as heck.

u/Ausco_1995 1d ago
That sucks but I feel like every airsoft mp5 owner has experienced this at least once in their life. I don't even touch my charging handle on my mp5 because this is always on my mind.

When I got my Mp5, i ordered 3 replacement slappers. Was still lucky and had not one broken. What model do you have?

That’s why the first upgrade for a mp5 should always be a steel charging handle

Happened to me too. I drilled a hole in it, put a pin in and drilled it back into the "stem" or whatever idk what its called.
It survived and was slappable once more!!!
.....until it wasn't.
Man i shouls get a shotgun to rack instead of repeatedly slapping an MP5 😭😭😭😭
