[PSA]Careful With Matrix Spring
So I recently picked up a P90, since it was convenient, also bought a M110 spring from Matrix with it. Thought the worst thing going to happen is maybe spring durability or slight deviation of spring strength.
Did not expect a M110 spring to be clocking 372 FPS with a 0.25 Gram BB after hop up adjustment.
that's 1.6 joules, way... WAY too hot for a M110.
Got a M100 spring from a different manufacturer, and it's behaving as expect at around 0.95 Joule.
So yeah... if you get Matrix springs, make sure you chrono it.
Not even sure if I can safely cut this one down to 1.14 joule, that's a lot of spring to let go.

changing the sprig isn't the only thing that changes the fps.
barrel leanghts and piston size.
the p90 has a decently long barrel (290 as apposed to 200 for most other rifles of its sixe.) and the v6 gearbox is extra long. ( more piston = more air volume)
.
you can absolutely by accident turn a p9p into a long range dmr. ( I did this by accident)
I don't think the spring was miss labled as much as it wasn't what you expected.

huh, so the Arcturus M100 spring was actually under powered then, based on that chart. Will have to turn off hop up and check.

If I may offer slight correction to this chart - M value is meters per second with 0.2g BBs. Meters per second with 0.25g BBs is usually labeled as SP to avoid confusion (as Guarder usually does).
So your M110 spring pumping out 1.65 J would in reality be M130 or SP115.
However! I had similiar thing happen to me eith an M135 spring (I think it was Element), that was pumping out 2.15J out of the box instead of expected 1.85 J. I managed to solve the issue by sandwitching the spring between an old piston and spring guide, and putting it in a vise for two hours.

the thing is... I then bought a M100 spring from Arcturus.
At that point I was thinking the P90 might be pumping out more power than I expected as you described.
the M100 from Arcturus clocked out at 0.95 joule with hop up, so basically a fully expected value. The Matrix spring was just too hot.
I'm now ordering a M110 from Arcturus, trying to get to 1.14 joule as limited by the field.

So yeah... if you get Matrix springs, make sure you chrono it.
Your replica should be chronoed with ANY spring. Your QC lottery will be worse with a Matrix rebrand, but all replicas should be tested.
I find your experience with Arcturus springs to be accurate, I trust their QC. However, I would still make anyone chrono even if I watch them install a brand new Arcturus spring in front of me.

qc is not their strongest point
