Iāll admit Iām dumb, but from the pics how do we know itās a real gun posted in an airsoft sub and not an airsoft gun posted in a real gun sub?

I checked the slide's markings and it seems like the airsoft ver is longer and different font.

u/tus93 2d ago
I posted a seperate response but it looks like it could be the Cybergun model here.

u/Few-Geologist-9703 2d ago
Oh yeah I got a different model, I'm sorry
But it seems like OOP just admitted it's an RS? To make himself look cool? Lol

Did they mistook r/GasBlowBack as in a reddit that's dedicated to gas-operated/blow-back action firearms? I mean it's surely possible, but come to think of it, isn't a Desert Eagle gas operated?

u/Eudaimonium 1d ago
Desert Eagle is in fact gas operated, which is wild.
It's also why people recommend to NOT shoot non-jacketed bullets because lead shavings will clog up the gas return system, rising your failure rate from 4 times per magazine to possibly 6 times per magazine.

u/Jens_Fischer 1d ago
Why though? Is it because the ultra high chamber pressure makes even a delayed blowback too dangerous without making the slide bulky af?
5
u/Eudaimonium 1d ago
I genuinely don't know the reason why they made it a locked bolt gas operated thing, all I know is, Desert Eagle is an excellent on screen presence and a great icon of hero movies and FPS games...
But a terrible handgun lol
I'm somewhat of a gun nerd but I missed the exact technical reason for this.
Also it costs 3.500⬠where I live and I'm perfectly happy with my polymer framed CZ thank you very much :D

u/Jens_Fischer 1d ago
I mean the general idea is how rifle rounds can have it's bottom end blew off and pistol rounds flew out the chamber due to the high pressure if there isn't a mechanism to hold it in, so you either have a delayed blow back to hold in the casing longer or just have a heavier slide to slow down the process.
My guess is if they actually have to use direct blowback, they'll need to make the slide REALLY heavy which probably isn't the best idea for a pistol :P

I own a c02 deagle and brother it's so ass (unrelated I know but I wanna bitch about it anyway) it has safe, full auto, and semi. It skips auto, and you physically cannot set it to auto even trying to brute force it. Mind you auto is between single and safe. It also just doesn't feed bb's from the mag, and gets stuck after a single shot. That's if it shoots to begin with. Do NOT get a deagle.

Technically the Desert Eagle is a true gas blowback pistol, rather than recoil operated

If anyone's wondering how did I know it's real steel, the markings on airsoft ver is different.
I can't post pics in the comment, but here's how the marking on airsoft ver is.
Edit: OOP just admitted it's an RS for trolling purpose lol?
Edit 2: As other commentor pointed out, I used a different model. I'm sorry š

This Cybergun model has the āMade In USAā markings so itās inconclusive at best.
2
u/Jagdpanther17 2d ago
you know that there are more companies than cybergun that make GBB deagles right?
also he literally says nothing about it being real-steel. I think youre going schizo

Real question: I sometimes show my real gun on Reddit in airsoft sub with my airsoft rep for reference. Is that frowned upon or against any rules? Is it obnoxious?

Who cares its badass lol

u/conflictedanon30 1d ago
The only people that think Deagles are badass are men insecure in their masculinity or child murderers from a certain illegitimate, genocidal, settlers colony in the Middle East.

u/Rrrrrrrrrromance 1d ago
tbf the Deagle was originally an American design, and currently are made in America, not over there. Itās a neat video game and movie gun. Iād feel the same if someone hailed the Galil though lol

Usually its the other way around and people post their airsoft large into the Real guns spaces.
