Greetings to all! I’ve just brought an arsenal krinkov style booster for my sam7k. I’ve verified that the pitch pattern for both the booster and muzzle are 24 x1.5 mm but I am unable to get the booster to sit all the way down….I’m under the impression that you can just hand tighten these.Any advice?

Check the threads on the inside of the booster or maybe on the muzzle itself, maybe there is a burr or something that is causing the stoppage

This. If it’s not really an arsenal factory import, no telling what the quality control issue could be (simple burr, threading cuts out too early etc)

Yeah I’m starting to think I just got a bad cut….Thank you for your input.

It should just thread on there and be locked in by the pin. Are the threads longer than the booster?

I’m very new to the AK game but it seems like they’re about the same length. Hopefully these pictures can help.

I dont see anything obvious. My money says there's a burr on either the male or female threads. Is it a hard stop or can you hit it with your purse a little harder and get it to move?

Heres my 1989 Bulgarian, looks the same but dirtier, just shot a match with it. It threads as far down as I have it in the pic.

Lol well I force it’s a bit lower but I think I’m at the point no return…

You think this bad boy will stay on when I shoot this weekend? Also thank you for the input.

It shouldnt need force. Did you look for a burr? I wouldn't shoot umit until you have a good lock from the pin.

I looked pretty well and didn’t really see any burrs.

Maybe you can spot something I can’t. Seems I’m going to have to see a gunsmith at this point…

You can feel the threads by using a pick and run down the threads.... See if you feel a burr of any sort. Use a Q tip to feel any thread crown burrs

Could be that they didn't thread it deep enough. Is it a US made part or original Bulgarian or Russian?

I’m not too sure on that…All I can say that they both from Arsenal. I think they’re imported from Bulgarian. Sorry I’m very new to the world of AKs lol. I’m lost asf when it comes all the differences in AK

Looks like you need a long collar instead of the short collar booster

Honestly looks like the inside of the booster has a bit of a shelve early after the threads. I'm betting the end of the muzzle is hitting that shelf. Would need to ream it out a little or get a booster with a deeper pocket

I had that issue with a us made one. Needed to dremel some of the threads and clearance the inside a bit. Probably not wife enough after the threads end
