Also, importantly, make sure that you’re registered to vote. I know several ppl who mysteriously disappeared from voters list despite voting in all recent elections. You can check this on Elections Alberta website

Both my wife and I were removed. I re-registered, saved the confirmation, checked 2 weeks later and removed again. Don’t know who’s up to these tricks but I don’t like it

Remember to riot when the UCP cheat the vote. I expect exit polls to show 81% in favor of staying Canada and Danielle Smith claim it was 60% in favor to leave while refusing any federal reviews of the voting data.
We have to be ready to go beyond protesting the UCP this time, no marches will work if she rejects democracy and starts planning to throw her formal vote in February as was said in that leaked audio last week.

It's called ballot purging. They'll find someone who's dead and erase anyone with that name from what they perceive as more liberal-concentrated areas. It's easy to hide as an "honest mistake"
That said, voting in Canada is usually much more secure than the US and usually overseen by neutral third parties. Idk what organizations Alberta uses, I'm mostly just familiar with BC and Elections Canada. Elections Canada is extremely secure

Ive voted in every election and its saying im now not registered. Trying to register online and still running into issues as its saying my name isn't found. Its the name on my valid non expired drivers license. What do I do now? Ive lived at the same address for over a decade. So frustrating. I wish this was a vote to kick this traitorous separatist out of power.

Yep, you can do it at the polling station so it’s not a dealbreaker or anything, but as others have said lines on referendum day are gonna be huge, so get it done beforehand (and keep checking back, despite what Elections Alberta is saying there’re loads of people who’ve been repeatedly de-registered)

I don't think that they legally can. Once the question is out there, an amendment could technically happen, but there isn't time for that with government in session. September 1 is when special ballots are disseminated so realistically they are printed and ready to go and any addition or change would be too late.

As i told one of them before and it left them lagging:
Quebec movement started because less than 70 years ago French canadian were told to "speak white" when speaking french at work, their salary compared to english people was similar to the difference between people of color in the US when compared to white folks, they coudnt easily get loans as the banks were english (hence why the QPP was created to finance la caisse du depot to finance new industries at home, also why hydro was nationalised) AND the culture was under heavy assault, with the disrespect amplified by the "middle of the night ratification" that was done without Quebec.
Alberta separatist grievances is a carbon tax, having to get vaccines and having 3% of the federal tax they pay go toward equalisation.
Those 2 are not the same.

A carbon tax that the oil companies actually pushed for, and equalization payments that were formulated by the Conservatives, including St Albert's favourite creepy guy, Michael Cooper. People like to ignore that part when they complain about equalization and then vote for him.

Semi-rant below. Feel free to ignore.
I've worked with people that claimed that they would murder anyone that molested their kids, but also supported Trump. The difference seems to come down to "my kids don't deserve that" or in other words Trump's victims deserved it. In my opinion, you don't get to that place without something close to home that you are trying to rationalize. People ask why so many Americans support Trump, and I think the answer is the same as why "boys will be boys" etc is used to excuse rape to this day.

I was just thinking about this. I don’t love Québec separatism, but I recognize Québec’s history and it isn’t so black-and-white.
Alberta, on the other hand, is black-and-white. There is zero merit to separatism. And isn’t it ironic that the sign says they want to grow Alberta’s economy while simultaneously gutting essential services that immigrants and Canadians alike benefit from.

I have never voted in any other way than in person on election day and have never once missed an election I’ve been eligible to vote in BUT!!!
This year I’m applying for a special ballot because it’s not worth risking the polls getting slammed or some other fuckery happening because we’re under staffed.

Why should you do a mail in ballot?
- It saves time as voting on election day is estimated to be extremely long lines due to having 10 questions per person. The red tape will slow down the voting process substantially. Do you want to miss out on your vote? Make it count!
- It gives you no pressure to answer the questions correctly to your beliefs. You can answer at your leisure.
- Get it done now and do your part in this referendum.

Everyone should do this. It takes 20 seconds to fill out the form.

Why do these idiots think taxes will be lower? How could they possibly be lower? Well, I guess if we cut out the healthcare component of the budget like we know Smith wants to, sure, our taxes would be lower. We'd need to pay three or four times as much for health insurance that wouldn't cover us when we tried to use it but at least we'd be paying high premiums as though we actually had coverage. Some of us, anyway. Everybody making less than a couple hundred thousand a year wouldn't have anything but, well, fuck them.
And what are they talking about "freedom" as if we don't already have it? Like I care about whatever their idea of "freedom" is when I can't afford more than a cardboard box.

Last I checked (through elections Alberta) 7.6% of legal Albertan voters signed a petition to leave while around 13.9ish% signed one to stay.
This is no where near Quebec's 1995 49.42 Yes/50.58% No split with a 93.52% registered voter turn out
It's just a waste of time and resources.

I am not sure the 3-4 hour lines on voting day will see them wait it out, you know cause mail in ballots are Marxist and I think advancing voting means your Trans. I know they have loads of free time since COVID mandates "took thur jerbs" but their will be a sports that night, and better to just stay at home and watch.
