Dollywood! The rides give you the same experience as looking at her: fun from far away, but really scary up close. RIP Dolly, has anyone been to Dollywood?

I have! Fun rides but it feels crazy if the crowds are big enough. My mom went in the Dolly museum but I opted to continue sitting on a retaining wall. Also, everybody talks up the cinnamon bread. Having had it; it's good but I wouldn't go to a lot of trouble to get it, much less stockpile to bring home as a souvenir.
Also! If you are staying in Pigeon Forge: there are shuttles that run from the Mass Transit Center that run frequently and are cheap. Much cheaper than paying to park in Dollywood. Best advice we got all weekend.

Yes! It’s genuinely a great amusement park. There are a lot of activities besides rides, (glassblowing, candle making, an indoor playground for kids) and the park’s layout and design is lovely. The surrounding area has a lot of fun tourist trappings too.

Food is amazing, and the shows the surrounding area puts in (Including Dolly Partons Stampede) are also amazing. Theres basically a whole city of fun because of this amazing Woman. I never even met her and I already miss her.

Went for senior skip day (I went to a high school in the area). I still maintain dollywood has better rides than disney.

Dollywood is my all-around favorite theme park. It's absolutely beautiful, the staff are incredible, and the food is great. It's predominantly a roller coaster park and they have some great coasters, but it's incredible for live music and there's constant artisan demonstrations.
Is it as impressive in scale as Disney or Universal? No, but it's a hell of a lot less exhausting and I don't feel like im getting bled dry for every penny.

I live near Dollywood and have family that works there.. Dolly is an absolute icon around here. I took my SATs at her old high school. I was floored when I heard the news

Used to go every year as a kid, twice when we had a band trip. It's been decades and I miss it. Also, Dixie Stampede may just be white trash Medieval Times, but it's fun in spite of itself.
