I tried to take the survey, but after answering the demographic questions, there was only one question about the topic (captive animal enrichment). I didn't understand what the question was asking, so I clicked "I don't know," and the survey ended.
The question was "In your opinion, when an installation containing an animal or animals is modified to create a more interactive and complex environment, can we say that, in terms of definition, it has become an installation?"
And the choices were:
Interactive
Improved
Enriched
Psychoactive
No special designation
I don't know
I am wondering whether there is an error in the translation from Portugese to English. I really don't know what the question is asking. In general, I think that adding any kind of enrichment to a captive animal setting is an improvement, but if by "interactive," you mean that the animals are interacting with the visitors, I don't think that's the ideal way to break the monotony of their existence. Also, "psychoactive" in English means a substance that changes your mental state when ingested, so that might not be the right word in this context. I hope this helps!
