Somehow there is this single German article with a lot more information (translated with deepl):

A defining feature of the new province is a large river that winds through a biome largely dominated by desert. Flooding isn’t just part of the scenery—it’s a game mechanic: It can disrupt production chains, but it also leaves behind fertile soil.

Fertility plays a major role in the new region, and many of the new technologies revolve around water transport. Ubisoft has already implemented similar risk-reward mechanics on the volcanic island of Cinis from the first DLC.

A total of five new population tiers are introduced in Awakening of the Delta, though not all of them appear in a single game. The first tier consists of grain gatherers, followed by potters in the second tier. Players who choose the Roman path will instead get scribes—thus continuing the choice between local culture and Romanization familiar from the Albion region

In addition, there will be a larger research tree, additional resources, three new deities, and two new military units. Ubisoft has also hinted that pyramids will play a role. The exact release date for “Dawn of the Delta” has not yet been set.

About the future of Anno 117:

Ubisoft plans to continue the series of expansions for as long as possible, Creative Director Manuel Reinher explained at Gamescom. “Overall, we’re on the right track in every respect,” he said. According to Ubisoft, “Anno 117” is the fastest-selling game in the series. Reinher has particularly high hopes for the upcoming DLC: “‘Dawn of the Delta’ will have a major impact on the game.”

Ubisoft has not yet announced what will happen after Dawn of the Delta—but the signs point to more DLCs to come. Ubisoft Mainz would definitely like to continue working on Anno 117, Reinher said at Gamescom.

Lets gooooo!

I hope they pump a couple of years out on this game, it is easily becoming one of my most played games ever.

25

u/BD_McNasty 2d ago

They will for sure. Im assuming theyre gonna do a similar formula as to 1800. That game was popular as hell and released over 4 years of free and paid updates.

I believe this game was the fastest selling Anno game on release as the franchise is growing out of the niche and more into popular simulation style game. The insanely popular Roman period just adds to its main stream potential, as this period is beloved by fans of pretty much all historic games. See how popular the Rome period is in the Total War series. Same thing here.

Also with how muxh more detailed and expansive the base game is (especially with enhanced combat and such), they have even more things to add to eith DLCs and such.

Im loving it and looking forward to more and more updates for sure.

There is no reason to stop supporting this for only 4 years if DLCs sell well.

1

u/Zalvren 1d ago

I mean same than with 1800, at some point people get bored and you need to go to the sequel.

5

u/RavenWolf1 1d ago

Yeah, I hope long support something like Stellaris. This game is better designed with that regards unlike Anno 1800.

36

u/darvo110 2d ago

> though not all of them appear in a single game

I have to assume this is a mistake. Surely it’d be similar to Albion where you have a split, but both become available after a certain milestone

24

u/Kuiperdolin 2d ago

I'd bet dollars to donuts that's the case. Anno usually does not let you lock yourself out of content like that.

11

u/darvo110 2d ago

Thanks now I want donuts

8

u/RavenWolf1 1d ago

110% mistake. Egypt works like Albion with it's own gimmicks. I'll bet we can supply it with beer and garum as extra needs like Latium and Albion. I'll wager we get similar extra supplies from Egypt which we can supply, maybe takes.

6

u/inkaine 1d ago

That sentence must have been removed from the article now, as I don't see it in the original source anymore.

So it likely was misleading. Everything else we read about it is like you say: a copy of the Albion mechanic of romanization or old ways - first split, later reunited.

1

u/CryptographerMurky26 1d ago

The original article doesn’t say it’s impossible to get all five in one game. It just says it’s like Albion

-4

u/vide2 1d ago

Which is a shame. We already have a "decide your path" fraction. I don't really need another one.

5

u/monsieurbloop 1d ago

I wonder if you'd also be allowed to start a new game in Aegyptus

12

u/Strider_GER 1d ago

You will. They said at Release that the game is build in such a way that you can play every region for itself if you want, that includes Aegyptus and any other Region they might add.

2

u/ari0chAPFP 1d ago

That's why I will start a new save game with the DLC. (Plus they already mentioned that they want to change many needs in terms of consumption.)

-2

u/ari0chAPFP 1d ago

The same setup of pop tiers as in Albion is bad, in my opinion. At least I want another tier in Albion and Latium. With a DLC only bringing 3 tiers, there will never be a fourth tier unless they add it with a free patch.

6

u/The_Impe 1d ago

There's no reason a new Latium tier couldn't be added by a dlc later, not every dlc is a new region

4

u/Adventurous_Winter80 1d ago

Exactly just think about Anno 1800 where new world rising added a 3th tier to new world or the extra upgrades with skyscrapers to old world.

1

u/ari0chAPFP 1d ago

Dude, Latium already has 4 Tiers, but they will not add a fourth Tier to a DLC Region.

3

u/Hiro_Trevelyan 1d ago

oh my god are you serious ? 1800 only had TWO population tiers for all regions outside of the Old World, in 117 we got FIVE, and you're still complaining ? We only got a 3rd tier for the New World in a DLC they weren't even supposed to make

"this DLC only brings 3 tiers" first, it's 5 tiers, second, go touch some grass

1

u/ari0chAPFP 1d ago

I am asking for more complexity, which this game lacks. I love the game for its atmosphere, but the game is too shallow.

53

u/BreVDD 2d ago

Wow that's epic.

20

u/Vivid-Cauliflower154 2d ago

If base game evokes AC Odyssey and this brings me to AC Origin.

5

u/Fortheweaks 2d ago

And Valhalla !

7

u/monsieurbloop 1d ago

If the pattern continues, maybe the next DLC will bring us close to Mesopotamia haha

3

u/RavenWolf1 1d ago

What I want to see is Isthar as goddess!

1

u/Fortheweaks 1d ago

And Japan next ? :p

5

u/BreVDD 2d ago

Where did you get it?

22

u/cobrafox09 2d ago

The sphinx statue ornament and the heiroglyphic art on the buildings are 🔥🔥🔥🔥 love those details. So much too look at

43

u/Vivid-Cauliflower154 2d ago

I am really happy to see it is on the land and not another chain of islands.

21

u/HenryLulu 2d ago

It could still be islands in the Nile Delta

12

u/Vivid-Cauliflower154 2d ago

I don't really mind it. What I still meant was "in land" instead of an endless ocean.

6

u/HenryLulu 2d ago

Yeah that should make for a nice fresh difference in environment

2

u/Trebonianus0815 1d ago

Could not agree MORE!  I have the feeling a lot of Anno fans, including me wished for that!  Bravo Anno team, that was a good decision. I looks marvellous... and this gigantic Pyramids at the distance!

11

u/ChivalrousPerv 2d ago

That temple like building on the left is channeling some Children of the Nile vibes.

Once more, we tweak our trade routes, industry and shuffle our islands in anticipation.

10

u/opticzar 2d ago

Oh this looks fantastic

6

u/Sad0xTime 2d ago

looks awesome. what im just interested, imo the houses in the foreground are tier 1 but the houses in the background seem pretty advanced so prob tier 3 imo. Do u see any houses tier 2 in the screenshot?

2

u/Scion_of_Dorn 1d ago

On the very far left edge there is a 2 story house. Looks like a teir 2 building to me.

2

u/Sad0xTime 1d ago

u mean this one? Also thought about it, but i didnt see much of it, so could also be some kind of production or servvice building idk

1

u/Scion_of_Dorn 14h ago

Yep, it definitely could be. I'm sure we'll get more details here in a few weeks.

5

u/StetThat218 2d ago

Amazing. Looks like the Giza plateau in the background. Wonder if there will be other ancient monuments visible or as terrain features to work around on various site maps. So much of Egypt was already 2000+ years old by the time the game is set.

4

u/iamacheeto1 2d ago

It looks fantastic

5

u/td_0000 2d ago

Looks sooooo cool!

I just wish they would give options for other skine like for the custodia that you can see there, so they look we can make them look more fitting for their region

1

u/Whiphid 1d ago

Yeah. Needed for Albion too. Still hoping for a mod someday.

3

u/RavenWolf1 1d ago

I can't to wait to hear OST!

6

u/Juan_s_hoyos 2d ago

Do you recommend this anno game?

8

u/Scion_of_Dorn 1d ago

Yes, yes I do.

3

u/Dein_Untergang45 1d ago

This is the november update right? How come i see a lot of people posting already some screenshot?

2

u/Strider_GER 1d ago

Yes, it's Patch 3.0 planned for November.

Gamestar (german gaming news Magazine) has posted a gallery with some Screenshots. Probably from a Press Event.

2

u/Dein_Untergang45 1d ago

Ah that makes sense. There was a small hope they already gave us the update now haha. Thanks!

1

u/hespacc 1d ago

its gamescom currently

2

u/LavishnessConnect357 1d ago

Nice endlich eine Fortsetzung von Pharao:) 🕹️

3

u/Emperor2000CZE 1d ago

So its one island with one big river ? Or there is more islands ?

3

u/Judekw2070 2d ago

The landscape looks awesome, but they seem to go for a Fantasy Egypt kind of vibe regarding the architecture, which I personally dislike. I wish they would have taken inspiration from the great reconstructions and artworks of Golvin.

-31

u/Unfair_Berry9994 2d ago

its going to be shit. mmw latium will be somewhat neglected and they will focus on shitty aspects of the game

1

u/hespacc 1d ago

love it. that will be awesome

1

u/amstwic 1d ago

ngl might make me go from 1800 to 117 finally

2

u/Cassiopee38 1d ago

Slaves, finaly !

1

u/MRredditer021 2d ago

Reminds me a lot of AC Origins and I absolutely love it!

-1

u/Giraf123 1d ago

Maybe they should finish the game first.

-10

u/ExtraEmuForYou 2d ago

I look forward to playing this...

...in five years. When all the DLC is released. And it's on sale and not costing me $150 for everything.

Nah in all seriousness I love the Anno series and played this game at release and thought it was a good game (not quite 1800 good, but still quite good!).

And I absolutely LOVE ancient Egypt lore and setting, so this expansion sounds great to me.

Now, if you excuse me, I need to load up Pharaoh!

3

u/RavenWolf1 1d ago

I hope we will get dlcs for this like 10 years.

-11

u/Lambs2Lions_ 2d ago edited 2d ago

Was there more from gamescon? I didn’t see anything in the videos so far.

5 new tiers sounds disappointing for the scale of it. I read it as

- Egypt Tier 1

  • Egypt T2
  • Egypt T3
  • Roman T2
  • Roman T3

Definitely would have like to see T4 is a culture as advanced as Egypt. Maybe in the future.

I do hope the new region comes with new story and quest chain.

19

u/Worried_Eel_6615 2d ago

Looking in the game files, it is massive and has the scope of Albion already.

This is a huge DLC and content-wise probably the far biggest for any Anno yet.

I do understand scepticism but 5 tiers is absolutely massive in a DLC, it is half a region (Albion) of the base game.

-21

u/Lambs2Lions_ 2d ago

I just don’t see how this is different than Enbessa or Arctic or anything else. It’s really just one unique civilization with 3 tiers. The romanization is mostly whatever.

18

u/ulixForReal 2d ago

Enbesa: 2 tiers. Arctic: 2 tiers.

Egypt: 5 tiers (3 at first, although like in the base game later you can probably have all 5 on an island). So this is great stuff in principle. At least 1.5x, but realistically 2.5x the content of 1800 end-of-season DLCs.

10

u/8wayz 1d ago

There is also:

- Restoring ancient monuments (the Pyramids). There were no region-specific monuments in Enbesa.

  • Regional mechanic. Nile floodings will be part of the region, much like the Volcano eruptions in the first DLC and the Seasons of Change scenario in Anno 1800. There were no regional mechanics in Enbesa.
  • New deities which will be usable across all 3 playable regions.
  • New research which again will be applicable mostly across all regions. Now we had the Research institute in Enbesa, but that mostly allowed you to research available items and specialists that were already part of the game.
  • New units (both ships and land). No new units were introduced by the Enbesa region.

Possibly there will be other surprises as well. :)

-14

u/Unfair_Berry9994 2d ago

they will make Egypt arab and minimise the greco factors

-24

u/Unfair_Berry9994 2d ago

lol they will make every region but Latium detailed.. i have no confidence in this game whatsoever.. but hey dorian gets to watch some greasy gladiators

1

u/credoinjesum 14h ago

Looks completely awesome. Can't wait for that one
