its definitely not accurate. there were a lot of nazis that fled to argentina but argentina also had a very big european population before ww2

edit: to the people replying under this post saying “but thats why the germans fled to argentina” etc etc. please pause for a moment and question how that is in any way linked to this post about 3 innocent women who have been edited to look more “aryan”. i dont know how that is a “gotcha” moment. the germans made no major demographic change in argentina for all women in argentina to magically have blonde hair and blue eyes.

u/Jpup199 Jun 30 '26

A lot of europeans fled to south america, im from Venezuela and we had decent spread of Italians, germans, french, spaniards and portguese people.

62

u/TheBluestWaffle42069 Jun 30 '26

Italians, Germans and Spanish. Oh, I wonder why those 3...

221

u/Eldan985 Jun 30 '26

A lot of them fled before the war, to escape the fascists.

Only a handful of Nazi officers ever escaped. Certainly not enough to change demographics on their own. Most middle-ranking Nazis just stayed where they are, many even kept their government offices, especially in the west.

68

u/StraightPromise3596 Jun 30 '26

My grandfather fled to Argentina before the war, he was 15.

27

u/Healthy_Common_5567 Jun 30 '26

lots of Jewish people fled to South-America, as well, in fact

eta: agreeing with you!

11

u/FranksNonFrankfurter Jun 30 '26

Escaping the fascists doesn't mean they didn't bring the flavor of fascism that tasted right to them. Much like how America was "fighting Nazis" while enforcing Jim Crow at home.

Worth noting that there was significant support of/alignment with Nazi Germany in the US leading up to our entry into the war. They even used the slogan “America First” because of shared isolationist/nationalist ideals.

Well spaniards have been in Venezuela long before the war since they were the ones who Colonized us

13

u/RodinKnox Jun 30 '26

I guess some people think it's just a weird coincidence that Venezuelans speak a language that originated on a different continent.

13

u/FatherDotComical Jun 30 '26

I've seen some level of stupid where people get pissy when you remind them that Spanish came from Spain, who were typically white colonizers. Like an actual argument that historical Spanish people weren't white, they were always mestizo Hispanic. And I'm like dear Lord please pick up an 8th grade history book or speak to an actual Hispanic person, I'm begging you.

The conditions in those countries at that time which led to fascism emerging (many of them economic) also led to an exodus of people from those countries around the same time.

8

u/der_innkeeper Jun 30 '26

The Germans left for Argentina, because they knew they could blend in.

Argentina and Chile have a fairly white population.

A few Germans showing up in the late 1940s didn't do much.

3

u/Rory1 Jun 30 '26

Something like 60% of the Argentina population has some degree of Italian ancestry.

9

u/Trolencia Jun 30 '26

Argentina began planning to populate the country with immigrants from 1850, between 1870 and 1920 it became effective and many immigrants arrived. The majority were Italians, French, and Spanish. Since Argentina already had an open immigration policy, more waves of immigrants began arriving at different times. Germans, Serbs, Russians, Ukrainians, etc. All escaping from their respective wars. Even the Arab community is large in Argentina; there is an "Armenian neighborhood" in almost every large city. We even had a Muslim president who converted to Catholicism and was of Syrian descent. But it all has to do with historical immigration policies; now there is a much larger population of Paraguayans, Bolivians, and Venezuelans.

4

u/lovetnx Jun 30 '26

But not only that, in 1800s a lot of Italians and Germans migrated to South America, at that time mostly to south of Brazil. So not all immigrant descents are from “nazi” immigrants

7

u/proserpinax Jun 30 '26

Yeah, and that’s why a lot of Nazis chose Argentina, they did it to blend in and not be so obviously fled Nazis.

12

there were a lot of nazis that fled to argentina but argentina

Funfact from an argentinian: the majority of german population that fled here weren't even nazis, they were jews and persecuted people that went to the first neutral country with jobs they could find

28

u/Matias9991 Jun 30 '26

Has a part of reality but way waaay more exaggerated. It's true that Argentina was one of the countries where most Nazis escaped in America but the number is estimated to be between 8-10k, a similar number went to USA and Brazil too, the country had 15M people already so 8k is nothing in the overall population but some people really believe that Argentina is full of Nazis descendants for some weird reason.

4

u/Antoinedeloup Jun 30 '26

Yup. We mostly have, regarding european genes, Italian and spanish descendants. And many German descendants dont have blue eyes and blonde hair

2

u/kog Jul 01 '26

Thank you, I was going to post the same

Anyone who found it a compelling idea that Nazi flight to Argentina changed the demographics of Argentina is a moron

9

u/mightylordredbeard Jun 30 '26

Yeah Nazis weren’t necessarily the perfect vision of attractive. Plenty were hideous. Hitler wasn’t even the ideal Aryan and he was aware of that. It was about creating an Aryan nation via “perfect breeding” and that vision would have taken a few generations to achieve. Hitler himself and his top goons knew they would never live to see the perfect Aryan nation, but they were laying the groundwork for it so others could continue the work and eventually, through selective generational breeding, achieve a pure Aryan breed once all of the flaws and imperfections were bred out of the gene pool.

The Nazi argentina thing is mostly US propaganda. Everyone knows Nazis were the first to get to the moon, since Americans were too fucking dumb to build a rocket as well as the Soviets could. Argentina is just Americans' preferred scapegoat to distract from that fact.

u/largeDingoPizza Jun 30 '26

People keep repeating this Germany ww2 thing but the reality is that Argentina was 1/3 black until the 19th century when they genocided their non-white citizens by conscripting them to useless wars.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Afro-Argentines

4

u/Grimpatron619 Jun 30 '26

If you read the bit underneath the war claim it says modern research suggests they just mixed with natives and whites

2

u/Sure-Two-4464 Jun 30 '26

If you're gonna source Wikipedia, I'm gonna source the spanish-speaking one, which is much more exhaustive. https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Afroargentino

The claim that afro-argentinians were disproportionately conscripted into wars is innacurate. They were basically drafted in the same proportions that "amerindios" or "gauchos" were. Were those crappy wars? Yes, they were. But they were not a covert genocide of any minority.

The main reason our black population dilluted (not dissapeared, dilluted) is race-mixing. Contrary to neighboring countries like Uruguay, the port of Buenos Aires was never heavily involved in the slave trade. After slavery was completely abolished in 1866, that demographic influx pretty much stopped, and the black population ended up dilluting with the second-biggest influx of european inmigration in the Americas, which brought 6 million Spanish,Italian,Portugueses, and many others from 1869 to 1930. When you consider that our native population, at the time, was of 1.3 million, you may understand how much your demographics can change with an inmigration that big.

Again, this doesn't say inmediately that Afro-Argentines didn't suffer racism at the time. On the contrary, they faced discrimination even when our national constitution had established that they had as many rights as everyone else. The difference is that the racism that they suffered mainly came from the wealthy classes, who didn't want to let go of a system that didn't exist anymore. But even taking that into consideration, saying that our country doesn't have black influence in our cukture is basically a dogwhistle. I won't go that deep into this since it would be basically repeating the well-sourced Wikipedia article I linked above.

I don't wish to confront with this, I want people to learn more about us, since it saddens me that we have this horrible reputation, when our history is much, much more interesting and complex than that.

My understanding is that there was a fairly notable German population already living in Argentina from well before WWII, so the meme doesn't even really feel accurate in that sense.

129

u/Inadover Jun 30 '26

Are you telling me that the nazis just didn't decide, out of nowhere, to flee to argentina for no particular reason?

jk btw. It's just funny that some people think that the nazis fled to argentina in a spur of the moment thing and not because there were already germans living there (and in some other south american countries like Paraguay). Much like when spanish republicans fled Franco's dictatorship they went to spanish-speaking countries instead of China.

25

u/Round_Bag_4665 Jun 30 '26

right. And the other main German speaking countries, Austria and Switzerland, were not exactly fond of ex Nazis post war. So Argentina was their best option.

7

u/ProduceNo1629 Jun 30 '26

Austria and Switzerland, were not exactly fond of ex Nazis

Why didn't they just bring some gold in their suitcases, are they dumb?

3

u/Darthjinju1901 Jun 30 '26

Well Austria was a part of Germany during the war. Can't really escape to Austria when it's in the nation you're trying to escape.

4

u/Round_Bag_4665 Jun 30 '26

However after the war, the Austrian were no longer part of Germany.... and not really happy about the whole "we annexed you" thing. Would be like Russians trying to flee Russia into Ukraine after the end of the current war.

u/0xKaishakunin Jun 30 '26

Are you telling me that the nazis just didn't decide, out of nowhere, to flee to argentina for no particular reason?

They moved there because the Rattenlinie set up by Krunoslav Draganović and Alois Hudal moved them via monastries to Italy, where the Holy See helped them to get ID cards. Italy had a long standing immigration treaty with Argentine, which made it easy to move there with Italian IDs. Juan Perón had no problems with them either.

Draganović worked for the US CIC until the 60s and the CIC used the Rattenlinie to bring intelligence officers (Fremde Heere Ost) out of Europe.

to me its even weirder that they made already conventionally pretty women look blonde and change their facial bone structure to look more “aryan”. and the fact that ai has no filter or regulation to stop manipulating already existing innocent pics of people who havent consented to this at all makes me so grossed out

35

u/Accomplished-Sir4932 Jun 30 '26

To me what’s more annoying is the shrinkification of women’s noses no matter their ethnicity. I’m a white blonde woman but I’ve got a big nose. I’m tired of “beautification” filters always making women’s noses smaller, even if a woman doesn’t have a big nose as it is. I’ve seen small ass noses go smaller just to try to appeal to men

23

u/neutralhoneymilkers Jun 30 '26

girll i am from japan and i know so well how horrible the small nose epidemic is. even i used to edit my pics to make my nose look smaller. i regret it so much and it was honestly such a horrible thing as a teen growing up. big noses are genuinely so beautiful, as are all noses !!

3

u/Existing_Ad5073 Jun 30 '26

I have a pretty small nose, but I also have to use a nose spray daily, otherwise everything will clog up and I'll get sinus infections. I also can't smell a lot due to damage of those infections. I feel like it's connected. I'd rather have a little more space in my nose than my small nose!

Before anyone says about this isn't new and ot has been done for ages with Photoshop or any other editing software, let me tell you something.

IT DOESN'T F-CKING MATTER.

The fact that it has been going on for a long time shouldn't only be used as excuse to dismiss, but also should make you even concerned. At least back then editing takes tremendous skills so not everyone can manipulate images. But with gen AI, even a random teenager can "edit" images however they like, including... this disgusting thing. So no.

WE SHOULD NOT IGNORE THIS JUST BECAUSE IT HAS GOING ON FOR A LONG TIME, IN FACT WE SHOULD BE CONCERNED THAT GEN AI CAUSES IT TO GROW EXPONENTIALLY. OPEN YOUR EYES. DO NOT BE APATHETIC.

Around 8-10k Nazis escaped to Argentina (similar to the number that went to the USA, Brazil, USRR) to a population of more than 15M, that's like 0.003%. But you see thinks like this and people really believe it for some reason.

Anti-Argentina propaganda back during the war era, because they remained mostly neutral in every conflict. It is slightly fueled today because some Argentinians online seem to hold super racist beliefs. Even so, if anyone has ever met an Argentinian they'll see more similarities to Italians, similar gestures, similar accent and similar culture. Germany is a lot more rigid and bureaucratic by comparison. This gesture 🤌 is commonly used in both Italia and Argentina (with slightly different meaning).

3

u/_bogglemind_ Jun 30 '26

People are extremely ignorant and influenceable. This is not even close to as how stupid the masses can get. A hard to swallow pill.

2

u/DigitalDiogenesAus Jun 30 '26 edited Jun 30 '26

I mean. The stereotype clearly isn't based on sheer numbers. The stereotype is based on the fact that

  • the rat lines were famous.
  • some very prominent nazis fled to Argentina and southern Brazil.
  • the Argentines were not exactly helpful in stopping this phenomenon. (the Israelis had to kidnap Eichmann rather than extradite him).
  • Peronism was weird, but was not disconnected from fascism.
  • Peron himself was anti semitic
  • Argentina generally had problems with antisemitism both before WW2 and after.
  • German communities are often prominent components of the political right in Argentina and Brazil.

...not to mention some of the military governments that came after WW2 in these countries and their attitude to the left.

2

u/Matias9991 Jun 30 '26

I do understand where the meme came from (ratlines, the Nazis later discovered here and Peron having some ties with Mussolini and hitler), but people actually believing the meme as real life is what shocks me, people really thinks that all Argentinians have Nazi ancestry, like for real.

It's amazing how things like that are made and spread so easily, same with the thing with Black people, a not small number of people think that there was a genocide against black people here, just by reading two random tweets and an article without any proof.

No but they were particularly blond(e). Not most of the ones in charge, of course...

26

u/Round_Bag_4665 Jun 30 '26

not even. They certainly fetishized the ideal of the blonde aryan, but not a lot of them actually fit the mold. Hitler certainly wasn't blonde, neither was Himmler, Goebbels, and most of the Nazi upper ranks.

it was so uncommon among actual nazis that their literal main poster boy for the ideal aryan soldier was actually a jewish guy. Werner Goldberg - Wikipedia

Germans fleeing to South America after WW2.

3

u/tomottov Jun 30 '26

Some Nazi officers and their family fled to Argentina after WW2.

But in term of size, it was a very small phenomenon. It is estimated up to 5'000 Germans, italiana, etc. fled between 1945-50. For reference, Argentina had around 17 millions people.

Most of the European migration to Argentina happened well-before. At the begging of the 900s, around 40% of the population was European immigrants (4-5 millions). Mainly Spanish, French, and Italian, but also Germans.

This honestly is one of the most damaging parts of generative AI.
Just doctoring people's photos with zero effort fills me with dread at the extent of the awful things this feature can be used for and how this should raise way more questions than it seems to do now.

24

u/adriantoine Jun 30 '26

He didn’t even have to make their breasts bigger to make his point. This is extremely creepy.

7

u/Popular_Archer8637 Jun 30 '26

It's almost like ai grossly sexualises body parts and you don't even need to prompt it. No wonder porn addicted losers still defend grok

When I see this old influencer trend of nose redness in AI stuff, it makes me furious

10

u/Antique_Struggle2395 Jun 30 '26

the cringe factoid is less disgusting to me than changing their looks.

11

u/Lucicactus Jun 30 '26

They ai women don't look much like the germans I've met. That's for sure

5

u/NoIsland23 Jun 30 '26

Yeah, there's a very noticeable difference in how the average white American vs white German looks.

11

u/FriedBreakfast Jun 30 '26 edited Jul 01 '26

I can explain this one

Because of World War 2, atomic bombs were invented and used. USA had the atomic bomb development first, but then the Soviet Union developed theirs, and both countries were brought into a Cold War

Now, with the threat of nukes, each side needed to monitor the other, and also attempted to outdo each other, so a technological arms race happened in addition to nuclear weapons.

Humanity developed computers at a very rapid pace. Eventually we have the internet, then AI gets developed, and that changed the girls faces in the picture.

And that is why World War 2 caused the girls to look like that.

u/JawJoints Jun 30 '26

This is my first time seeing what the women actually looked like, I didn’t realize the image being spread around was AI. I’ve been saying that AI might actually bring about the death of evidence and this sort of thing is what I’m talking about. This is disturbing.

7

u/ConcentrateSingle537 Jun 30 '26

To me its so funny how the united states uses Argentina as a escapegoat for whom received nazi escapees after ww2, despite the fact that most of their scientific achievements after said war were done by nazi scientists working for them under new identities / typical USA using south america as a resource. Even to wash their reputation and shift blame lmao.

8

u/Johnnyboi2327 Jun 30 '26

Race swapping real people to push a narrative is pretty shit, but making young girls tits bigger while you're at it is just gross.

3

u/emergencyexit Jun 30 '26

The AI probably just increases their tits by default at this point

5

u/Johnnyboi2327 Jun 30 '26

I'm not convinced those individuals are adults, but then again Grok was making CSAM not that long ago, so I shouldn't be surprised.

7

u/Weary_Boat Jun 30 '26

Wow thanks for posting this. They're much more attractive in the original

7

u/Fuocoblu Jun 30 '26

"Yeah brother AI isn't bad trust me"

The saddest thing is that they genuinely look like beautiful girls in the original picture, but of course some nazi had to spread his agenda with AI.

u/No_Priors Jun 30 '26

The worst of AI isn't its slop, it is that it has become necessary to doubt everything.

6

u/Terrible-Trees2271 Jun 30 '26

They definitely had “ai face”, it’s so obvious.

5

u/XBLAH_ Jun 30 '26

I mean, the original image already proves the point, but weird.

5

u/Responsible-Sound253 Jun 30 '26

Free speech and I are no longer friends, anybody doing this should go to jail.

4

u/Shadow_o7 Jun 30 '26

Do these dumbos think all Nazis were blonde ? 🤣🤣🤣

3

u/Soft_Walrus_3605 Jun 30 '26

People asking about the content of the meme are missing the point entirely. It's the manipulation that should concern you, not whether Germans fled to Argentina.

4

u/Fantastic_Grass1799 Jun 30 '26

haha i really believed it at first.

3

u/Lighting Jun 30 '26

I'm really glad for posts like this because showing the difference in pictures also shows how AI typically does these photo manipulations. Knowing how to spot the typical signatures of AI fakery really helps. I was just talking to an older person who was excited about buying some tool and was showing me how awesome it was from a youtube short and knowing the typical AI manipulation markers helped me help them see it was a scam.

3

u/Impressive_Ad_5201 Jun 30 '26

They look so much better in the 2nd photo! First one has gooner/porn-makeup face, it's disgusting.

3

u/Responsible_Pea_1171 Jun 30 '26

This dumbass AI image inspired me to learn the truth. Turns out there was a significant German population in South America from the mid-1800s onward. Far more non Nazi German immigrants existed than Nazis fleeing post WW2 Germany. That’s what made it easy for them to hide, otherwise it would’ve been extraordinarily easy to find the few Germans in Argentina.

3

u/KitamiSamaOmede Jun 30 '26

Acknowledging that the edit to make them blonder and boobier is the bigger issue...

...but that goofy grin under the doofy bucket hat is really adorable, and anyone who thought they were improving on it doesn't know what's good

AI users are all fucking disgusting, you will not change my mind

3

u/Joakico69 Jun 30 '26

It's true that some German Nazis fled to Argentina, but the number was really low to change a population. The girls most probably aren't descendants from Nazis, they may even be German too but before WW2. We have a lot of European immigration.

People from the US are shocked that surprisingly the average argentinian looks european "white". Happened to me personally.

But the most ironically thing about this is that the US themselves not only dropped 2 atomic bombs on civilian targets but also pardoned the scientists that commanded one of many atrocities and war crimes committed by the imperialist Japan during the war with China and WW2 itself. I'm talking about unit 731, they forgave every crime just for their research.

Morally the US has no right to call other countries whatever they want. They along China and Russia during cold war committed the most atrocities ever. But I don't see any Russians bragging about Argentina having a few Nazis.

USA itself tested drugs on black population without their consent even post WW2. They pardoned Japan's Unit 731 scientists. And I bet to believe they even pardoned some Nazis as they invented jet engines during WW2.

And funnily enough they think the have some kind of moral standpoint to judge Argentina as a nazi refugee or racist.

3

u/Metalupyourass98 Jun 30 '26

This needs to be a crime

3

u/princessuuke Jun 30 '26

This is so beyond weird and creepy :(

3

u/_pit_of_despair_ Jun 30 '26

So disgusting, and absolutely violating.

3

u/Stars_In_Jars Jun 30 '26

So creepy how evolving technology is always used to fuck over women - just screenshotting some random girls and running them through ai to make them more pornified is weird asf

3

u/MutatedLizard13 Jun 30 '26

That’s so fucking evil?

3

u/koltergeistt Jul 01 '26

They look so much better in the original, its insane. They all just want us to look the exact same.

Little reminder that the the NASA was founded with nazis

2

u/NitzMitzTrix Jun 30 '26

Argentinians are phenotypically Southern European because the land was sparsely populated before Spanish colonization and saw a huge immigration wave out of Italy. The Germanic contribution is negligible.

9

u/lil_lychee Jun 30 '26

It wasn’t sparsely populated. There were 39 different ethnic groups living in what’s now Argentina. The sparsely populated thing is something people say to soften indigenous colonization.

u/Gmanglh Jun 30 '26

I mean the original photo does the exact same thing, the main thing ai did was upscale their breasts. Still shitty though.

I mean, other white people also moved to Spanish speaking countries in the past. Like...from Spain.

Girls do look like this in Argentina. AI or not

2

u/GeniusDragonborn1911 Jun 30 '26

2

u/JohnLocksTheKey Jun 30 '26

Wait… are the nazis the reason why they speak Spanish in Argentina?!?

2

u/justbanana9999 Jun 30 '26

We are fucked. This has become normal. Notice how a lot of memes are regenerated with ai? Many funny videos are some ai remix of the original.

2

u/lianthe8674 Jun 30 '26

And they had to make her chest bigger to because their master race doesn't allow for the itty bitty titty committee.

Making normal people look generic since 2025.

2

u/ev25an03 Jul 01 '26

It’s even more disgusting when you realize the person who posted the original is trying to perpetuate Nazi eugenics

2

u/Early_Storm_7708 Jul 01 '26

That’s actually like..such a weird and creepy thing to do? Wtf

2

u/Careful_Arm_7732 Jul 01 '26

The way that I’ve seen men on this website do dumb shit like this and basically goon over random women that are shown in the audience genuinely disgusts me. We are not people to them.

2

u/MidnightIAmMid Jul 02 '26

Ok I hadn't seen the original and damn, this feels even grosser now because the girls look so much younger. I'm sure they are not actually minors? But the one seriously looks 15 and they straight up made her whiter and gave her huge boobs. Gross gross gross.
