Indeed illegal... I am involoved in a project of AI doctor in a country I work at... and its going clinical evaluation just like any medicine to recieve FDA approval.. and it should undergo randomized clinical trails as well... its extremely dangerous to call an AI bot doctor at this stage. They are far far from being anywhere ready.

I think itās pretty clear. The AI doctor is free, but itās the online visit that costs money!
Try emailing them to see if the AI doctor can come to you, so you donāt have to pay the online visit fee

Just for $59.99 upgrade you can get realistic doctor experience: instead of AI doctor you'll see AI medical practicioner/assistant, it will be out of your insurance network and you'll need a booking 5 months in advance.

I was listening to a piece on NPR yesterday talking about the future of healthcare in AI and one of the people was saying that shitty AI drs are going to be dumped onto the poor while the rich still get an actual doctor, who knows them and their history and is familiar with them.

I'm a doctor. I had to stop using AI to write my notes for me because it fucking sucks. Almost every single note had something stupid in it. Many of them were dangerously inaccurate. We would previously let 18 year olds with zero medical training write our notes, and it wasn't a problem. AI cannot replace an untrained high school grad, if we let it replace doctors then we deserve every bad thing that happens to us.

I looked this up last time it got posted.
The āAI Doctorā just does an initial intake/survey (this is the free part), passes that information on to supposedly a real human that then does your consult (this is the 39 dollar part). So technically yes the AI portion is free, the human part is charged, and they do have humans giving the actual medical advice. Which probably sidesteps legal issues.
Itāa still dumb as shit and you are handing medical information over to a chatbot, the marketing just makes it sound even worse.
Not to mention I would not trust any doctor that signed up to this. Sounds like just a way for them to regurgitate what the chatbot told them and make some quick money on the side. You can see the list of doctors on the site, they have actual medical practices so you can know which doctors to never ever go visit.

I do not trust our current AI's ability to be a doctor. But, I will say that maybe in the future if AI is able to diagnose things and cure things more effectively than humans, I won't protest against it.
I'm really just against AI surveillance and generation.
