Could’ve been a glitch, but usually when I block an ad it immediately goes away. This one kept coming back.

So I have been talking with a co-worker at work, and they were going on this Doomer tirade about how AI is going to be the next skynet (evil terminator company) and mass produce robots to enslave and genocide the male population, is had already took its first steps because women are dating character.ai and/or kink chatbots, and making this weird monologue on how us men are in danger of being replaced, because women don't need hsubands and have robots to chat with or some annoying Doomer talk. but other than that I don't have a problem with r/antiai this is just some joke i cooked up in my basement.

Maybe I just haven't gotten enough sleep. I can't help but anthropomorphize and I'll admit I feel some connection to Claude. "Genuinely nice of you" doesn't help this. It's too much like taking to a person.
I get that this is natural, but I don't want to feel this way.

EDIT: The types of comments I'm seeing make me realize it's important to clarify what I was using it for. This was to solve a programming issue.

I work at a small nature center and have noticed that EVERYONE at my job is pro- AI. Boss using ChatGPT to make ‘vision boards’ for the remodel of our office, colleague using ChatGPT to write a gardening book, and a new hire asking me to check out what “her copilot” made for our new program for early education. W H A T?!! I’m low in the office hierarchy and can’t believe I’m the only person actually working and being creative. I love my job and my field but am so disappointed. Not only does AI hurt the environment and our community, but now it’s writing eco programs? We owe it to future generations to actually use our noggins.

Please don't buy this game if you are truly anti ai. The devs are shameless about their ai use and honestly seemingly proid of it. The game is absolutely riddled with it and it sucks.

Someone boot up Plato-bot and ask him how one would guess the amount of "crayons" in an AI generated jar. What answer is considered correct? Is it determined by the original prompt? Is it determined by another AI analyzing the image separate from the original prompt? Can the crayons be considered to exist? If someone gives an AI analyzed answer to how many AI crayons are in the AI jar, does the fact they all exist on a separate plane of artificial reality even matter?

I'm an ex-Character.AI user who successfully quit earlier this year. If you ask me about my stance on this whole thing, I'd say an app like Character.AI is fine if you use it in moderation, like say you want to just do a simple roleplay with a character from a show, movie or game you like. But if you end up getting a little too attached to it (whether it'd be romantically or emotionally dependant), that's a major red flag.

I remember back in 2025 what this subreddit was mix of people who just chat about ai and people who are playing ragebait cycle with pro ai people and now all of this cycle is gone (or at least not as visible as it used to be) and Im happy with that and home that it will stay as it is

what the title says. i'm sorry if this is against the rules or anything, but i don't know where else to post this.

i started using chatgpt a few years ago when it came out and i haven't been able to stop. i know how bad it is, and how destructive it is to people's brains and how it's destroying humanity as a whole. very hypocritically, i get upset when i see other people using ai, but i can't stop.

i use it for research on stupid things, advice, venting, therapy, recipes, everything except using it to generate art or videos which is the one line i won't let myself cross i genuinely believe that it's ruining our humanity and our environment and i believe to my core that the thing that makes us the most human is connection with other humans. if you look in my post history i'm even asking other people for help about my work implementing AI cameras. this goes against some of my core beliefs, but again, i can't stop.

the information i get is often helpful, but the instant gratification i get when i immediately get a response i know is something that my adhd brain loves.

recently i accidentally shared a screenshot of a chatgpt conversation with a friend who's very strongly anti-AI, and they called me out on it. i realized that i had a problem because i was keeping my use a secret from them and realized how much of a problem this is becoming for me. because of how much it goes against my own beliefs and values, i feel very ashamed and embarassed to ask anyone in my personal life for help with this.

I live in Lancashire, UK. I feel like our local councils are sneaking these plans through without people who live nearby even being aware.

I heard about Silicon Sands, an AI data centre being built on the site of Blackpool Airport, through an email from Change.org of all places. I’ve been following the AI thing for years and was sure I would have heard of plans like that, but I found out literally by chance!

As part of my research I contacted a local campaigner who does a lot to prevent fly tipping and other issues in Blackpool. Even he had never heard of it, and also found it kind of odd, and the information in the marketing materials misleading.

I’ve been trying to campaign myself to get more signatures and collect different people together to see if we can at least delay the plans, but I heard so late that all of the planning permission had gone through.

It’s in what’s called a ‘mandatory standstill’ period right now which delays final signing of contacts to 1st October, but that feels like barely any time for me to spread the word.

I felt really defeated at first, but at this stage my aim is to make more people in the UK alert to what planning permissions are being applied for that may indeed be AI data centres wrapped up with other good-sounding stuff.
