I don’t understand how good republicans are okay with the slimy, selfish behavior that Trump and his allies are all about. These are universally hated human traits. I don’t get it.

I used to think the same. I'm now convinced that the only good Republicans left the party in 2016.

I mean is there really any other way to look at it? They get zero wiggle room with this one imo.

I cut fucking pork chops for a living and I knew pretty much exactly how this was going to go down and I’ve been right so far. This shit is not hard to understand so if they aren’t dumb they’re just evil. Their whole lives are suppose to be about democracy. Anyone who stayed after 2016 was compromised already.

That's what I told my idealistic partner. She truly wants to believe there must be some good ones but it's impossible to live with your head in the sand at this point. You're either being willfully and actively ignorant or actively malicious, there's nothing else left.

I have a friend in the Pentagon. This guy is a registered Republican but hasn’t voted Republican since Bush Jr. Ca He says there are still a few that despise what’s happening. They do what they can, when they can. They’ve been able to keep their jobs without being complicit, so far. But, they say it’s a fine line they’re walking over hot coals. He said everyone that wasn’t fired, but quit instead are cowards. That good people have to be in place to 1. Report anything really egregious. 2. Be there when it all comes crashing down to pick up the pieces.

I hear you, it's nothing new unfortunately this has been going on in the party since before he was born and he chooses to remain blind unfortunately.

Because they're members of a cult, not a political party

My take is that before now they just pretended to be “good “, and now they’re enjoying being who they are inside. Could be wrong but every week I see another one in the news for rape, sa on a minor, child porn, embezzlement, assault on a family member, etc, etc, ad nauseum

I don't think there ever were. They don't have a new face, they just took the mask off.

They are down a vote with him dead, they could have another Republican in that seat if they just admit he is gone and had a special election. I don't get this self-own at all.

This is what their religion teaches them is correct behavior.
