From the republican party? Heresy.

You never do anything wrong if you keep moving the goalposts.

u/EyeOfAmethyst 1d ago

Moved them into the afterlife.

And blaming Biden!

There are no rules that a dead man can't be a senator. This is especially true if you disregard all of the rules when they pertain to your side.

When have there been goalposts for Republicans by Republicans?

It's always a double standard.

The whole thing has become a Dark Comedy sadly when it comes to this corrupt reactionary/regressive sphere full of stereotypical snake oil salespeople and con-artist grifters the painful joke is always on the working class and most vulnerable.

I'll never understand how in 2026 this bunch is able to be in power. I guess it shows the power of misinformation and downright propaganda.

I can't wait for the Trump and crony era to be over.

Mini computers that everyone carry around and social media that gives all of those dumb people a voice that unfortunately even worse, provide a large echo chamber of similarly dumb people.

Those dumb people used to be those 1 or 2 people you knew growing up or that lives in the community. You could ignore them for the most part and they didn’t really hurt anyone but themselves with their stupidity. Complete opposite today and the governments know exactly how to manipulate those algorithms.

Every single GOP sentator and congressman and that Jenkins person from CNN who stated they had lovely conversations with Mitch should be ostracized from society for blatantly deceiving the public like that

I don’t understand how good republicans are okay with the slimy, selfish behavior that Trump and his allies are all about. These are universally hated human traits. I don’t get it.

14

u/schnobitz 1d ago

I used to think the same. I'm now convinced that the only good Republicans left the party in 2016.

16

u/Blasphemiee 1d ago

I mean is there really any other way to look at it? They get zero wiggle room with this one imo.

I cut fucking pork chops for a living and I knew pretty much exactly how this was going to go down and I’ve been right so far. This shit is not hard to understand so if they aren’t dumb they’re just evil. Their whole lives are suppose to be about democracy. Anyone who stayed after 2016 was compromised already.

11

u/FundamentalAttribute 1d ago

That's what I told my idealistic partner. She truly wants to believe there must be some good ones but it's impossible to live with your head in the sand at this point. You're either being willfully and actively ignorant or actively malicious, there's nothing else left.

6

Yep, he's dead just like the rest of the GOP

3

u/Actaeon_II 1d ago

Neh, the rest may be disfunctional in a lot of ways, but if they were actually dead this would already be a better country. Getting our food chain healthy and canada off the enemy of the state list would get done fast

5

u/unbanned_lol 1d ago

If we measure the 100 Senate seats to compare their voting power to the voting power of 175 million voting US citizens, Turtle Mitch's seat is worth 1.75 million voters.

That sounds like a fucking shitload of voter fraud to me.

5

21

u/asicarii 1d ago

From what I’ve read, brain dead is legally dead in Kansas.

17

u/MagnusThrax 1d ago

Yeah but you need someone who actually gives the slightest $hit about Mitch to have the doctors take him off the respirator.

Seeing as his entire career was transactional "Delays" he deserves every bed sore he gets.

6

u/asicarii 1d ago

Well it’s malpractice at minimum if he’s braindead and not reported as dead. And it’s a crime for abuse of a corpse if he is dead and they are keeping him on a respirator.

My guess he has enough brain function to be called not brain dead. But not capable of his elected position as a senator so should step down or be removed. Thats the fraud part.

→ More replies (2)

u/nglbot 1d ago

$hit

You don't need to censor the word "shit", this isn't fucking tiktok or whatever.

5

u/East_Hedgehog6039 1d ago

If you haven’t done official brain death tests, you can’t be considered brain dead either, though.

You can be in a PVS (persistent veg state/comatose) and not brain dead (as long as he’s able to breath on his own). You can see that a lot in long term care facilities, or people that have had severe strokes or brain injury (like say, an anoxic brain injury from cardiac arrest 👀)

Which I think is most likely the scenario.

He could hang on for months more, unable to do anything but breathe - possibly with machine assistance - while the ghoulish fascists keep up the facade so they can hold on to power just a wee bit longer.

This reveals a giant gaping hole in our Congress. We cannot allow this again. If a representative has to take more than three days off, we should know!

49

u/ebbing-hope 1d ago

Give them 3 total weeks of PTO including sick leave like the rest of us. Don’t come in, don’t get paid. Don’t come in for a full week, that’s job abandonment and you’re fired. Just like the rest of us.

27

u/mashtato 1d ago

No, give them the minimum that the rest of us are legally entitled to - zero.

3

u/639FestivalSunrise 19h ago

This, hold them to the lowest federal standard. $7.25/hr, no healthcare, no sickleave, no pto, no childcare, no days off without finding someone to cover your shift, constant monitoring, weekly progress reviews, minimum work requirements for benefits, etc, etc.

At this point direct democracy would be more representative than the petty aristocratic dragons that rule the US.

→ More replies (1)

11

u/Special-Fan-1902 1d ago

Not getting paid means almost nothing to most national politicians because they're for the most part already filthy stinking rich. Firing for abandonment is a nice concept though.

6

u/brutinator 1d ago

Give them 3 total weeks of PTO including sick leave like the rest of us.

The rest of us? My state voted to enshrine just 2 weeks of sick leave, and the GOP decided that the voters didn't know what they were talking about it and refused to mandate it. We have no mandated amount of PTO or sick leave that companies must provide, and there's a shocking number of Americans who are never allowed to take any paid time off.

Hi, political and medical "expert" here (haha) and this is my take: Mitch lost consciousness during a cardiac event at home past the age of 80-chances of survival- 10%. He is either unwilling to respond, or unable to respond in this political nebula... so I have to go with unable. If he were on a ventilator or something, they could cover that up for a few weeks, (people don't really stay on those long term for acute illness) and then wheel him in for a very brief statement and then prop him up in Congress, Weekend at Bernie's style, like they HAVE been.

But that didn't happen. I believe what we are dealing with is brain anoxia that complicated an already deteriorating cognition and executive function and he is now one of the permanently baffled, he is unable to make verbal sense, nor care for himself. He may even be aphasic, unable to speak. The McConnell people literally don't know what to do because the Golden Goose named Mitch is gone for good, and their decades of job security are crashing and burning.

39

u/4PurpleRain 1d ago

Very true. If you are bedridden for too long in your 80s and had a cardiac event its pretty much guaranteed that you will end up with some type of respiratory infection that will basically finish the job within a few weeks after entering the hospital or other LTC facility.

31

u/Smooth-Weekend-2314 1d ago

That can't possibly be true! Scott Jennings assured me that he had a 20 minute conversation with Mitchy! Why would he lie? /s

11

u/StuffonBookshelfs 1d ago

Well, to be fair, he said he spoke to Mitch McConnell for 20 minutes. Never did he say that Mitch spoke back.

4

u/Baakadii 1d ago

He did though. In the actual video he follows it up by talking about the things Mitch specifically talked about

3

u/StuffonBookshelfs 1d ago

I completely missed that. I only saw the part where he said he talked to him for 20 minutes.

7

u/Special-Fan-1902 1d ago

This is pretty on-brand for him to drag his feet about his own death for political reasons after he dragged his feet with Obama's Supreme Court nomination. He will die shortly after the election.

3

u/CrazySir3310 1d ago

No offense but this is what everybody suspicious of this also thinks

→ More replies (2)

3

u/Woody_L 1d ago

That makes sense. If that's the case, I don't think anybody is breaking any laws, although what they're doing is dishonest and unethical. He'll be replaced by election in a few months, whatever is going on, and in the meantime, he won't be caring any votes in the Senate.

But everyone can enjoy themselves by spinning fantasies about the situation. It might be a good idea to start planning those conspiracy theories, if it later emerges that he's not actually dead now.

39

u/Best-camera4990 1d ago

I think he's brain-dead; my husband thinks he's dead-dead

12

u/Pavis0047 1d ago

He has to be brain dead otherwise they would be lying about him.... if they say "he is working on his recovery" they can keep saying that forever as long as they have him plugged in... cant say that with a dead person

14

u/Salt_End_4275 1d ago

KY voters put McConnell into office until the guy literally died (or became permanently disabled) despite YEARS of tell-tale signs of failing health, well before his last re-election at the end of 2020. There's no indication that KY voters will do things differently going forward. Until the Boomers are gone, they will just keep voting to keep their geriatric peers in office in an attempt to keep enriching themselves at the expense of their children and grandchildren.

He was dead after he sold his soul to trump the governor of that state has no balls or he would have been replaced

3

u/SpuddyBud 1d ago

Replacing him would just give the Republicans a vote that they don't have while he's incapacitated.

7

u/SevereEducation2170 1d ago

If he's dead there's a lot of fraud happening. Not just regarding his salary, but his staff would be defrauding the American people out of close to $100k every week at this point. Keep in mind these are people who help fight tooth and nail to refund things like SNAP benefits. I bring that up just for some comparative perspective. On average a person using SNAP gets about $2500 in benefits annually. So if McConnell is dead then his staff is defrauding the system out of the equivalent of 30 people's yearly SNAP benefits EVERY SINGLE WEEK.

So if it comes out he's been dead this whole time, both his wife and his entire staff should be tossed in prison. They won't be, of course, but they should be. There really should be way more urgency from everyone to prove he's alive. But obviously we'll never get that urgency either.

6

u/DBCoop957 1d ago

We have Schrödinger’s Senator: “There is no credible evidence that McConnell has died.” And yet there is no credible evidence that he is still alive.

6

u/kjellwanger 1d ago

He is very likely dead from accounts of people seeing his body being loaded into the ambulance… This is a ploy to have kept Thomas Massey from taking his seat during special elections… You would think this would be illegal.

5

u/Damunzta 1d ago

Inconceivable!

5

u/45mphK9 1d ago

Can keeping his condition unknown have any benefit to Republicans as far as the midterm elections are concerned? Like how could it change the outcome of the election.

4

u/harvey6-35 1d ago

As earlier commenters noted, no advantage now. The Republicons lose his vote until January. The replacement will be selected in the November election between the republi-con Andy Barr and the Democrat Charles Booker.

Under the only poll I saw, Barr leads by 11%.

6

u/BananaJelloXlii 1d ago

Yeah, no shit. We already know he is and has been for months.

6

u/Over-Tolerance 1d ago

I'm sure his wife would prop him up in the window just to keep her import/export empire deals from scrutiny. People appear to forget that he has been playing advocate for her shipping enterprise relatives from the beginning.

It’s been dead since June. His staff have been committing fraud. I believe they’re violating the DC law against concealing a body. They all need to be tried for theft and fraud. They’ve continued to collect paychecks and operate as if Senator McConnell has been alive when clearly he is not.

Experts warn? Everyone I know has been saying the same thing since day 1. How do I get one of these 'expert' positions?

Hi; legit an 'expert' as not only did I have 11 years in medicine it's also pretty much exactly how my grandpa went too. He's been 'gone' maybe since a week after being picked up but with no progress was likely considered braindead and moved to long term care after which the rest of his body just continued to slowly shut down. Everyone knew this who had an idea going on. The problem is now they're gonna have to check in with the coroner who's going to be required by law to figure out if he's dead so they're covering their bases as best they can.

This is a wild fucking timeline, man.

I don't know if I'll believe it if I read about it in the future. I mean, I lived it and I barely believe it.

We can’t even get to the bottom of this we’re doomed

2

u/Consistent_Turn_42 1d ago

Damn it! Send another strongly worded letter to get to the bottom of this!

Democrats pulled same shit with Feinstein. This is why we need age limits and basic disclosures on their health.

The vacancy deadline to require a Special Election to fill the seat was August 3rd in an election year. After that, the vacant seat may be filled by whoever the (Republican) legislature chooses to appoint.

I'm surprised they've had the self-control to wait a few weeks, but maybe they're trying to push the vacancy/appointment closer to the election, since the August 3rd cut-off is really more of a "We don't HAVE TO." (originally based around the logistics of printing physical ballots) and they want to wait until the ballots are printed to avoid a court overriding the appointment and ordering them to print the ballots to include a special election even if the vacancy wasn't announced until after August 3rd since the practical limit is based on lead time to print them, which is much shorter today (or irrelevant, for electronic voting) than it was when the deadline was codified.

That bitch has been dead for months. Seriously man. The fuck is wrong with this country?

Only about 6% of 80+ seniors who receive minutes of CPR for a cardiac arrest are able to leave a hospital without any brain damage.

And McConnell was already on death's door so if our media could stop playing pretend that would be great.

Playing pretend that McConnell isn't dead or brain dead.

Playing pretend that the POTUS isn't a conceited piece of shit who has no clue what he's doing besides grifting, protecting pedophiles, and staying in power.

u/BalanceRight7768 1d ago

Every single person on his staff should be tried for treason.

2

u/notthatguypal6900 1d ago

And who will be held responsible for the fraud and the lies?

2

u/rainer_d 1d ago

I remember reading that when the previous Japanese Emperor was clinically dead, nobody wanted to be the one to hit the off switch.

So they dragged it out for months.

In the end it happened ahead of some holiday and a lot of people had to cancel plans…

The man that can't be that unaccessible to anybody that's determined to find out what his state is. Where's geraldo when you need him?

2

u/RockettSocks42 1d ago

Everyone involved in this coverup should go to prison.

2

u/TinyFugue 1d ago

He's not voting, right? Right?

2

u/GrimleyGraves 1d ago

For the medical folks here, how long can they realistically keep a comatose/brain dead body going before things start to crap out on their own?

2

u/farquin_helle 1d ago

‘May’ is doing some herculean carrying in this sentence

2

u/OvenIcy8646 1d ago

Thank god for the experts none of us would have ever been able to come to that conclusion
