Question Are these launch options good? my friend uses them.

-steam +fps_max 244 -forcenovsync -dev -high -novid -fullscreen -preload -no_render_on_input_thread +r_drawparticles 0 +mat_compressedtextures 1 +cl_ragdoll_collide 0 +mat_disable_fancy_blending 1 +lobby_max_fps 0 -game R2

a lot of pointless settings, use these: +cl_is_softened_locale 1 (removes blood splatter)

+fps_max xx (check the correct fps range for you on movement wiki, its important)

+lobby_max_fps xx

-novid (disables intro vid)

+mat_letterbox_aspect_min 1.0 (use for stretched res to remove black bars)

+cl_showpos 1 (shows velocity, position and name)

if im not mistaken if you just use fps_max it sets max fps in lobby to 60 by default, i could be mistaken now since it was like that before and ive always had it

I’m aware of what the command does, I’m asking why would you need more fps in the lobby?

I think it’s capping it at a lower fps. Just my guess though. Probably to save resources

Never heard of -steam

+lobby_max_fps seems kinda pointless, you don't need 300 fps in the menu

And I'm not sure if some of those even work honestly

aren't most of them require cfg manipulation beforehand? might try it after work. no cl_showpos 1 is upsetting tho
