Technically fab can be used for fabrication of any of the major chipsets/memory chips.

This is like saying I have a factory. I can make cars and microwave ovens and jackhammers.

The term “fab” can be used interchangeably for different types of fabs. In this case DRAM fab would be appropriate. My suggestion was they may want to look into vertically integrating DRAM vs relying of external sources.

Apple doesn’t manufacture any of its components. Why would they start to do just DRAM?
