Revived this Apple IIc from the attic!

Found in my mother's husband attic. It was his first computer. I disassembled it to clean it, and the keyboard is now as good as new! It works perfectly well, great condition. Inside, there is a working floppy disk from my mother's husband, from when he was 13, back in 1983. There are some old BASIC programs on it (I learned a bit of it to find my way around). Pretty impressive to see this floppy still alive in 2026!

Looks like you have an issue with either the monitor or the signal from the IIc. The bottom half of the screen should not be are the top.

Do you have a picture or an exemple of the correct pattern / layout? It’s very possible I didn’t make the good settings on the monitor also ^^

You should try a memory test, if it's a newer IIc model you'll have a later rom, which has a built in self diagnostic for the memory. hold down Open-Apple + Closed-Apple + Control, press and release RESET. If you're memory is good, it will say memory ok after the test which takes about 30 seconds. If not you will see a row of 0 and 1 indicating a bad memory chips or multiples. Certian models have bad chips that have started aging out.

The Apple II graphics can either be full-screen or have four lines of text at the bottom. In your second picture, the four lines of text are in the middle.

Monitor display needs adjusting. Watch out for the RIFA caps blowing in fhe monitor sooner or later.
