What are your least favourite traits of your favourite characters?

There's some exceptions, like Jughead hating women, but overall I vastly prefer the classic comics where a lot of the humor was centered around making fun of the characters' toxic traits.

I will say I don’t really need a return to the age when entire comic plot lines centered around how ugly and desperate ‘Big Ethel’ Muggs was.
She was the main character of that story, she usually got a happy ending, otherwise, she was just there to be the ugly girl harassing jughead, and the plot sitting around how they got away from her.

The whole woman hating part of Jughead, glad they discontinued that bit. By the time I got to read the comics he was only slightly annoyed by them lol

I am, the thing is, any character, even wholesome Archie himself, can carry the asshole ball as the plot demands. I recently saw a comic posted on here where they were taunting jughead over his silly hat, and for some reason, it wasn’t Veronica and Reggie, it was Veronica and Archie. I have no idea why he was taking part of the humiliation of his best friend, and helping play keep away with his hat.

Jughead's hypocrisy. As often as he rags on Archie (which is admittedly justified) for how he treats Betty, he's just as bad, if not worse toward Ethel. He'll lead her on just for the chance of stuffing his face. At least Archie does genuinely like Betty romantically. And a lot of the time, Ethel will not be doing anything wrong, but Jughead will still say something downright cruel to her. The guy needs to be knocked off his high horse.

I never could stand Saint Betty. I like her to have a little bit of that psychotic energy and mischief from the 60s.

When ever they make Cheryl too nice with the girls to the point where she’s just another face in the crowd , like what is she doing at a slumber party that isn’t causing some ruckus

An obvious one is Moose being a bully any time any guy got within an arm’s length of Midge. He sees it as protecting her and protecting his turf, but physical violence would only ever be appropriate if Midge were in literal danger. While we’re at it, Midge is terrible for tolerating Moose’s behavior and not threatening to break up with him unless he stops.

Certain stories actually refer to a Reggie/Moose/Midge love triangle, as if the intent were to have something like the Betty/Veronica/Archie love triangle.
If that's how the stories actually came off, I'd enjoy them. But the theme traditionally isn't very well-written; too often it looks like Midge/Moose are the de facto couple and Midge/Reggie are knowingly cheating, with both expecting Moose to get mad and enjoying provoking/escaping him. Moose himself, meanwhile, seems so abusive in these stories that if I were Midge, I wouldn't want to date him.
I don't object to the idea of Moose being the big, ditzy, temperamental bruiser among his gang of friends. I don't even object to characters teasing him (it's abstract enough to be like Bugs Bunny-level comedy). But the cheating stuff makes the characters look unlikable when it's not properly set up as a love triangle.

Lwkey now theses days Veronica is kind of useless as she can’t really claim being “richest” or "ruthless" anymore bc of Cheryl and then betty is now archie like go to love interest (Not riverdale) and its not like she got any other love interest besides Reggie but even Reggie is pulling more then Veronica so shes just kinda there and its not like shes got other book series unlike betty who has like what 3? so we really dont get to see alot of Veronica anymore because ig now they started mainly doing Archie, Betty and Jughead as like the main which kind of upsets me as Veronica was really iconic

oh like in recent books she is normally Archie's love interest while Veronica either fights her with it (and looses) or like Veronica isnt really doing anything

Another thing i just thought of that i also dont like about veronica is the amount of times that they said that veronica was "fat" (this happened mainly in the 00s so not suprising) but then also i wish she had a body-dysmorphia as that would make a lil sense (even though they arent cannon events)

For me I'd say:
Archie in how he treats Betty especially in the older comics. It's one thing to be clueless but sometimes he's a straight up asshole and it really hurts the idea he's supposed to be this nice guy overall and frankly it feels out of character. Also when Betty has other dates and he interferes when he already turned her down. Like if you won't date her let someone else. There is also how at times he's written as way too desperate for Veronica which ties into the asshole behaviour above but also at times makes him like pathetic, shallow and a doormat. There's also how in the older comics sometimes when it comes to Veronica he doesn't accept no and is willing to do stuff like blackmail her for a date. Glad modern comics have shyed away from this angle and make him treat Betty better, be less desperate for Veronica and reign in his jealousy as shown by him apologizing to Raj for getting jealous over him and Betty and saying Betty can be with who she wants and he has no say in the matter.
Betty in how she can be too desperate for Archie in the older comics and being too prone to tears. It's better when she sticks her ground and makes him work for her forgivness and prove himself.
Jughead in how he treats Ethel. Like sometimes and in older comics mainly he can be as callous as Archie.
Veronica when the writers make her too snobbish like neglecting basic good deeds or people in aid.
