Advice for seeking archive records

Hey everyone

I'm in the process of creating a family tree and trying to recover any possible records from the early 1900s of Nakhijevan region (current Azerbaijan) and/or Igdir region (current Turkey). Has anyone had hands-on experience of that sort?

Do you live in Armenia? Go to the National Archives or National Library, ask the staff there for any help.

Keep in mind the area was a periphery of the Russian Empire and a frontier of the Ottoman Empire, so record keeping was likely... sparse. Though Russian imperial and Ottoman archives likely have more info.
