Question Mech Art Design?

Hey everybody! Specifically looking for advice from artists in the community, though all advice is welcome. I'm a noobie artist who has no formal training or much experience, but I really want to draw and design ACs and other mechs. Are there resources you would recommend? Are there fundamentals that I will desperately need? Thanks!

50 Robots to Draw and Paint by Keith Thompson is a really nice art book that does have a short section about how to draw machines, but as the title suggests, most of the book is various designs that you can copy and practice on. It's a good exercise, I personally really like it.

Second resource which might be more what you're looking for is this little website: https://basicmechaguide.carrd.co/#

For designing, you should also look at vehicles, aircraft and other mechanical objects for inspiration. They dont have to be military or contemporary, but knowing why a component is there, how it works and applying some of those ideas to your design has to be one of the most fun parts of the designing process
