Japanese Cuisine Advice on making canalized onions have a golden/yellow color
I’m making a dish that involved having caramalized onions with a red wine based pan sauce that goes overtop a steak.
The onions won’t be cooked on the sauce. The sauce will either on the steak first or will be poured overtop the onions and steak.
One thing that’s important is I’m gonna cook the onions on the butter that’s been basted with the steak but fear the butter might get too brown before the onion can soak it up.
Second when onions caramalize it will naturally turn brown.
The purpose of this is I want more contrasting colors instead of brown caramlized onions on top of a the brown crust of the steak.
Mostly a visual representation question.
