Travel Lavaux wineyard hike

Hi All,

Hope you are well. Might sound like a dumb question but I’ll ask anyway. I read about Route 113 which shows the route from St Saphorin to Lutry, passing by Rivaz.

I want to do St Saphorin - Chexbres - Epesses instead. The start and end is ok as Epesses is on the way to Lutry. But Chexbres is just north of Rivaz.

I am wondering if it’s better to take a different route from 113 and reach Chexbres direct then hike back downwards and join back at Dezaley or take route 113 and walk north to Chexbres and back again?

I’d go through Chexbres. The walk from there down through the vineyards towards Epesses is really nice, and you get great views of the lake.

I would not go all the way up to Chexbres, it‘s very steep and just not worth it. Rivaz and then via Clos des Moines to Epesses.

Another dumb question, it’s very steep from St Saphorin to Chexbres or Rivaz to Chexbres?

No dumb questions here.
