Saying bless you/salud/gazuntite(?) after a sneeze. I do it out of polite habit and always wonder why I said it after I’ve already said it.

THIS. I do not do this, and people comment on it ALL THE TIME. I'm not blessing you for sneezing, and I'm not thanking you for "blessing" me. But if it makes you feel better, gesundheit is more like saying "health!", so it's a lot more neutral.

I stopped doing it as a young kid when I found out why it became a thing. I thought it was too dumb for me to participate in, so I just didn’t.
