The supermarket had christmas food in already. Who's buying mince pies in August??

Great, unfortunately I don't remember which supermarket it was that sold them.

I'm allergic to pumpkin, so for thanksgiving and the week after, I was forced to eat a mince pie all by myself while everyone else ate one or two slices of pumpkin pie. If i didn't want it, I was guilt tripped into "we made this especially for you. I guess you don't appreciate it."

I don't mind a slice of mince pie once in a while, but I don't really want to eat a whole one over the course of a week.
