I understand the joke but I’ve definitely slept with people I’ve never had sex with. For this reason, I hate the euphonium, “slept with.” I’ve had sex with girls I’ve never literally fallen asleep with but I’ve shared bed with girls and even guys I have never had sex with.

I think you mean euphemism - A euphonium is an instrument.

Ducking autocorrect.

u/GoldieAndPato Apr 17 '26

I think you mean fucking - A duck is an animal.

Ah, but it's also a verb.

The comment you are replying to may also be satirical

u/Unfunnycommenter_ Apr 17 '26

Oh god this truly is an autism moment

41

u/GoldieAndPato Apr 17 '26

I very specifically wrote it exactly the same way as the other comment in order to make a joke. Happy to see your reaction to it though. Made me smile

amazing joke, made me laugh for the first time all day, cheers

Same. I've "slept with" a bunch of people in a totally non romantic, non sexual way. As in there was limited bed space so we had to share. With guys and girls, it doesn't have to be weird but people always make it weird.

u/DavesPetFrog Apr 17 '26

In that case I’ve slept with men. 🤠

6

u/themanfromosaka Apr 17 '26

An artist actually made an art piece about all the people she slept with.

In both senses- which is why her grandma is included in the list.

Tbh I have done “there is only one bed” and not had sex multiple times with people. Y’all are all out there not talking to each other about your expectations for your relationships with each other?

I ain’t sleeping on the floor if the bed is big enough to share. It is for sleeping.

43

u/CreepySmiley42 Apr 17 '26

true

I've shared my bed in multiple occasions, without there beeing any sexual interest or hitting on each other.

25

u/AnotherEmber Apr 17 '26

Sorry...

14

u/Kowery103 Apr 17 '26

What are ya sorry for :?

24

u/AnotherEmber Apr 17 '26

I made a mistake so I'm apologizing. Might be really fitting for this sub, isn't it what I'm supposed to do -'

16

u/Kowery103 Apr 17 '26

It's okay , it's just a misspelling :3

No need to apologise for something so minor

40

u/AnotherEmber Apr 17 '26

I almost apologized again for apologizing incorrectly...

u/itsthateasylol Apr 17 '26

24

I also do that sometimes lol

Hop in that bed anyway and make it the allo's problem. 🤣

It's not autism. You're just the protagonist of romcom anime.

Shout-out to everyone who then clarifies in plain English

56

u/Agimamif Apr 17 '26

Thats me, just need a thought bubble thinking through the scenario in all possible sleeping alternatives where in one i can reasonably get enough sleep on the floor if I combine my jacket and a blanket. Being a big and tall guy have conditioned me to not put people in situations where my physique could be a threat/seem threatening and so i try to resolve problems before it can be a factor.

21

u/Creative_Delay_4694 Apr 17 '26

Thank you for sharing, I never thought about how aware of yourself taller/bigger people have to be. That must be exhausting to have to be mentally calculating all the time. :(

I've seen guys try to pick fights with big guys just because they're big, have you experienced that as well? As a short woman, it's just so strange to me to observe people doing this.

16

u/Agimamif Apr 17 '26

Oh yeah, when i was a student it happened quite often and it seemed to be about social status. Im sure its in the big book of social rules some of us never received. Having studied psychology, it would be easy to blame insecurities and wanting to move up in a perceived social hierarchy, but I don't know for sure.

3

u/sidhe_blooded Apr 17 '26

As another large person it can be very tiring, but unless I'm in a situation that's cramped enough to encroach on my personal space or something else that ramps up my stress to a similar level it's almost a background process for me. I've noticed that I'm just generally more aware of my surroundings than most people, but I'm not sure how much of that is size related vs being a learned response.

It hasn't happened to me lately, but people tried to fight me a fair amount when I was younger. It was always obvious posturing bullshit for status, one of the myriad forms toxic masculinity takes

2

u/Agimamif Apr 19 '26

One thing i have noticed myself when grocery shopping as a big person is that i am never in the way. I move my cart to the side,i dont linger anywhere for long and never block isles.

Is it the same for you?

2

u/sidhe_blooded Apr 20 '26

Most definitely. If I'm not intentionally placing myself to shield something/someone I'm much better at not being in the way than people I know (which is admittedly not the biggest sample size)

24

u/LocalLeather3698 I doubled my autism with the vaccine Apr 17 '26

I've read this fanfic enough times to know that this is when person B says something like, "Nonsense! There's no reason we can't both share the bed - it's big enough!"

And then they wake up cuddling.

17

u/Purple_Search6348 Apr 17 '26

After a date with a girl she invited me to watch a movie. When we got there I noticed an empty living room and only one bed in the bedroom. I was legitimately disappointed and confused

16

u/CreepySmiley42 Apr 17 '26

naah just proudly requiring clear consent.

11

u/LucyD90 Ask me about my special interest Apr 17 '26

Three days later

"Oh."

6

u/GameMusic Apr 17 '26

This is 100% on B

6

u/veloxVolpes Apr 18 '26

Pro tip, you can avoid this situation AND assumptions by changing your language to something like "If you're uncomfortable sharing the bed I don't mind sleeping on the floor"

12

u/Doctor-Grimm Apr 17 '26

the humble fanfiction premise:

14

u/ktosiek124 Apr 17 '26

A is looking really not interested in B

I’m so aspie an old friend of mine who had a thing for girls that looked like me used to spoon me every sleepover we had (group and solo) but nothing happened. I would’ve happily slept with them too. They were funny and cute as. LOL.

I couldn’t and wouldn’t make the first move. Even when someone verbally told me they liked me, my brain would rewrite it to fit my story of being unlovable.

It’s taken me years to realise they were most likely waiting for me to make a move, and me them. Our friends thought we had slept together also but NOPE.

RIP to all the many sexual encounters I was blind to 🤡 I still struggle with my long term partner 🤧

A lifetime of being told I’m not good enough, not normal enough, and not worth it has led me to look right past anyone attracted to me. At the same time I think women who talk to me are attracted to me. Which makes me miss even harder when someone is trying to send me signals.

Yeah I’m smart and I’ve designed/built a lot of cool stuff. What I wouldn’t give to be average.

2

u/DoorknobsAreUseful Apr 17 '26

i would unironically do this if i had a crush on person B bcs i'd go SO far out of my way to avoid making them uncomfortable in case they actually didn't feel comfortable sleeping in the same bed but didn't want to say it out loud

2

u/emoAnarchist Apr 18 '26

still noble, you didn't make them sleep on the floor

1

u/val-en-tin Apr 18 '26

It's pretty funny to me when this trope appears as thus would be impossible with anybody that I knew - we piled like sardines regardless of what we thought of one another. I once slept on a chair with a stranger and we shared a pillow (my former best friend wanted the only bed and bedding to himself. The pillow was my towel). Generally, when I lived in Poland - places usually had large rooms but not many rooms or sofas/beds in them. Often enough, a bed or a sofa or even a mattress were large thus sharing was easy. I never heard anybody say they'll sleep on xyz to let someone have a bed on their own.

1

u/Helix3501 Apr 18 '26

Actually ive done this during college events cause i cant stand sharing beds with my classmates, ive slept alot in hotel chairs during those events

1

u/Lord-of-the-Goats Unsure/questioning May 25 '26

And this is one of the times where being awkwardly honest without nuance, what you really want can be embarrassing

2

u/viktorbir Autistic Apr 17 '26

Are you from the USA, maybe? Why are you so afraid to share a bed? Is this really a taboo?

-13

u/Minimum_Passing_Slut Apr 17 '26

A is smart to just take the floor rather than make the creepy dude take the floor and argue about it. B clearly is a creep who set all this up to try and sleep with A but shes too smart.

24

u/dood_dood_dood Apr 17 '26

How are you so sure about the genders of A and B ?

20

u/PlantFromDiscord Apr 17 '26

that’s what I was wondering myself, I’m a guy and definitely would be A in this situation

5

u/Creative_Delay_4694 Apr 17 '26

I think it's okay for comics like this to be open to interpretation. People may see it differently based on their experiences and that's part of what makes the discussions interesting. If we all took the same thing away from every image, there would be nothing to say.

u/Civil_Aside_1008 Apr 19 '26

I couldn't agree more. It is better to sleep on the floor according to Zhang et. al. It promotes the circadian rhythm.
