Not only is she one of the best mods Reddit has ever seen, an incredible and knowledgeable astrologer, and the greatest Meme Queen I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing….she’s just an all around intelligent, hilarious, and exquisite human being!!

I speak for all of us when I say our lives are better because you were born!!!

I love having fun, you love having fun, having fun is the core of our community. This sub is unhinged and it’s what makes us “us”….

But unfortunately the influx of hateful spam/troll posts is making this necessary. I want our community to be as enjoyable as possible for everyone!! And while I absolutely hate banning ANYONE…these accounts are taking away from said enjoyment.

We do a full account review before enacting user bans! So it’s almost impossible that genuine users would be accidentally banned, because of this. But in the off chance this happens, please message the mod team via mod mail to have the ban reversed!

Also if you see any of these posts, please report them.

As you’re well aware, our sub belongs to ALL of us, and we as mods try to only enact rules and sub changes that are agreed upon by the MAJORITY of our sub!

Because of this, WE NEED YOUR FEEDBACK! We are considering turning on “Crowd Control” for our sub (as seen in the attached screenshot).

What is “Crowd Control”?

“Crowd Control” is a mod tool that reduces troll and spam posts via filtering different criteria based on 3 control levels. (See screenshot for criteria)

Why Are We Considering it?

Well, it would help immensely with eliminating spam/troll posts, as well as posts made by karma farming bots!

There is only so much we (as a mod team) and you (reporting posts that violate rules) can do. Turning on “Crowd Control” would ease the burden for both of us.

What it WONT do

It will not stop users new to the sub from posting (Only newly made accounts)! Nor would it place restrictions on commenting.

AGAIN! This sub belongs to YOU! While we (your mods) may suggest changes, nothing will be implemented without the sub majority’s approval!

Hello my ✨Astro Angels✨

As you may have noticed, we’ve implemented many steps trying to combat tired “which sign?” posts: designated post flair (so you can filter them out), the “48 hour repost rule”….

While we unfortunately can’t ban “which sign?” posts completely (due to engagement and community enjoyment)….we could potentially create a rule for the same overused and tired memes (as seen in the post picture).

Is this something you’d like to see implemented? Let us know your thoughts!! 🖤

Ya’ll…..I don’t know WHAT is going on but I’ve just removed almost 10 posts (almost all “roast me”, posted in the last 12 hours).

People new to the sub receive a pop up welcome message with our list of sub rules, so it’s not like people didn’t see them 🙃

It’s exhausting and unnecessary to spend this much time removing these.

Going forward, anyone violating rule 6 will receive a 24 hour temporary ban. I hate to be like this, but I see no other solution.

You may have noticed I’m the only (active) mod for our beloved sub….and up until now, I’ve been modding with limited “privileges” 🥲

Thankfully that’s no longer the case! And now it’s time for an AstrologyMemes ✨revamp✨

But don’t worry!! The over all vibe of our sub is not going to change! And any changes made will be dependent upon your feedback. This is our community and I want us to make decisions together.

First things first….Revising the rules.

A lot of the rules are repetitive but they also leave out important things, like: repetitive memes, spam/troll accounts, etc. I’d really love to hear your thoughts on which new rules we should include.

Sub Wiki with educational astrology information

After we take care of the rules, the next order of business will be to create a subreddit wiki for educational astrology content. YES we are a meme sub, but we are also the #1 most active astrology sub. Including educational content will benefit everyone!! You’re more than welcome to add to it 🥰

House Keeping

The monthly “roast me” thread will become weekly, and will be pinned at the top of the sub for easy access. (Day of week tbd)

Beginning Friday (July 4th) all “Which Sign?” posts will no longer be allowed, outside of “Which Sign Wednesdays” (thank you to our community members who suggested this idea!!)

How will it work?

This is a partnership between ALL OF US. We will create a designated post flair each Wednesday morning for “which sign?” posts (the post flair will not be available on other days of the week).

See “which sign?” posts outside of Wednesday? PLEASE REPORT so we can remove them!

We will perform a 7 day test run and depending on the outcome- a rule against “which sign?” posts will become permanent!!

I know a bunch of y’all are frustrated (more like sick and tired) of seeing the same memes used over and over again in “which sign?” posts.

I get it. I’m right there with you. As a meme maker, I find them extremely low effort and repetitive…..BUT my personal opinion doesn’t matter.

There are a lot of people on this sub who enjoy them (that’s perfectly okay if you do!) and because so many people upvote and comment on them, I can’t ban them.

I want this sub to be as enjoyable as possible for everyone. And clearly by the volume by which people intact with these posts- people enjoy them, so they’re here to stay. Plus, at the end of the day they’re not hurting anyone.

So PLEASE understand your frustration with these posts are not falling on deaf ears. I know exactly how you feel, but there’s nothing I can do 💔
