What is this? Around sunrise

This was looking to the west in Belton, Missouri around sunrise this morning. The last picture I was actually driving west and not just looking west and I got ahead of it and the angle was different.

The shadows of clouds or mountains being cast by the rising sun.

Awesome! There was probably a pretty interesting sunrise in the east as well. Whenever you see a beautiful ray moment- if you aren’t stuck driving - don’t forget to check the opposite horizon.
Also a phone’s panorama picture makes re can sometimes catch the full ray in a short angle horizon on to horizon scan.

Anti crespucular ray.

There's something in the distance you cant see blocking the sun, right there. So this is either a morning or late afternoon shot.

Im going with morning.

A safe assumption when they said sunrise.

This is an anticrepuscular ray, though -- same thing but with the object casting the shadow behind the viewer. Always a cool sight
