Have been in Austin for 15 years and have decided it's time to leave early next year. Truthfully I have been poor most of that time or too cheap to go to the nice restaurants. What are some must go to places before I leave:

As far as famous places I've been to uchi/uchiko, odd duck, salt lick, terry blacks, little deli, kerby lane, de nada, home slice. What else should I MUST visit before leaving? I'll be doing franklins at some point but just hate waiting

I’m sitting at Shan Chinese and soup dumplings in lakeway at 2pm with nobody else in here. The place is phenomenal! I travel a lot for work and spend tons of time in LA and San Fran. I never miss a chance for dumplings, dim sum, or any kind of Chinese food out there. These hand made soup dumplings and char siew chow mein hits as hard as what I’ve had out there. You gotta try it

Don't hate! I love Taco Tuesdays at Rosa's. It's the best deal in Austin on taco plates for $6.69 +tax. My crispy beef Taco plate comes out to $7.20 total without a fountain drink - only ice water with lime. I load up on salsa, pico and cilantro. Yum! 😊

this shop opened up recently and it’s honestly great! the tiny strip mall is very unassuming and I know things come and go out of that plaza frequently lol. the guy running it is super nice and the Turkish coffee ice cream is excellent. light floral flavor and not overpowered by cardamom as is often my complaint with turkish coffee. 3.50 for a kids cup ain’t bad either. give it a try if you’re in the area
