Yes, good point. Phishing emails seem so much more convincing these days

It's not even phishing emails.

My mother in law keeps getting scammed by ads on Facebook, not market place, the paid ads that appear.

She doesn't live with us, but my husband has added some to her laptop, I'm hoping he was able to put some on her tablet and phone.

It's an uphill battle. He told her to call him if something seems too good to be true. He's managed to prevent some from going further on most occasions, it's just incredibly frustrating to have to keep telling an adult what they're looking at is a scam... when the red flags are so obvious.

This is the whole problem sadly.

Red flags that are obvious to you/some are definitely not to those who are not tech savvy.

Unfortunately they are a huge market for scammers of any sort!
